What shipping option do I choose?

Ok so ever since Ebay decided it was a good idea to completely screw up the final shipping screen, I'm left with asking the forums what I'm even supposed to be looking at now.  I obviously can't call them because you're on hold for an entire week if you're lucky!

So first off why in the hell do all these shipping options you obviously can't use come up now for items that you blatantly can't use?  I put in the dimensions of a large box item and all these flat rate box and evelope options come up that I obviously can't use?  What is the point!!?

And lastly here is my item.  32 x 24x 1@ 1 lbs weight.

Can I use USPS Priority Mail Large Package and use my own box?

Can I use USPS Priority Mail Package and use my own box?

I'm pretty sure I can't use any of the Flat Rate boxes as they aren't big enough for my item and I want to use my OWN box anyways.  I don't even know what Regional A box is...

If you have any clarification for me, please respond.

you can use your own box with Priority Mail.  You cannot use your own box and select any of the FLat rates or Region A/B

This quest stands on the edge of a blade...stray but a little and you shall fail to the ruin of us all.

I think you are misunderstand the reason eBay asks for dimensions. The dimensions you entering are the dimensions of your package, not the dimensions of the item you are selling.

Choosing a flat-rate option makes the dimensions you enter moot, but the dimensions you enter do not necessarily make the flat rate box options moot.

When a I am shipping an item that can be folded or repacked may differnt ways to fit in a many different boxes, I am glad that eBay does not force me to enter new dimensions each time I want to check the price of a flat rate box.

Perhaps eBay assumes that sellers are smart enough to decide whether their item can fit into the various flat rate box options.

If you select FLAT RATE BOX you must use exact USPS box that you selected.   Otherwise, you need select PRIORITY MAIL and use your own box (must provide measurements).

Ebay doesn't lock you into what you put in the listing as to the postage you must use.......  i.e. even tho your buyer chooses media mail, you may elect to mail it first class (if it qualifies) or priority......that's a choice you have.........  So they show you various choices.........  It would behoove you to study and understand the options.  As information:  you can always UPGRADE the shipping from what a buyer chooses....you cannot use a less fast delivery method.  ie........if they chose priority, you can't mail parcel or lst class.

I don't even know what Regional A box is...     so look it up.......  the more you "understand" about shipping the better off you will be.......it can seem complicated, but it's not rocket science.

you can use any box you want for priority as long as you pick a plain one.

you can use various boxes for just regular old priority

you can also use usps priority boxes if you have them handy or you can get them at the PO

when reusing older boxes many folks will cover old writing or adesses old bar codes etc.

The problem is it exceeds the maximum size for Priority Mail, which is the maximum length plus girth is 108 inches for Priority Mail. USPS ground is 130 inches. You barely squeak by using USPS ground to ship.

Please start your own thread, and tell us what you are shipping and what you mean by "flat rate". Most items are not eligible to be shipped via Media Mail.  If you have already listed the item, please provide the listing number or a link to the listing.

Without any further details about your item, all we can say is that you might set up your listing to offer BOTH shipping methods (if the item is eligible for MM) so your buyer can choose whether they want fast shipping or cheap shipping.  However, during December MM is even slower than usual. In my own listings, I just don't offer ground shipping during the holidays.

You should start your own post. Nothing you are selling qualifies for media mail.

Never mind. I was wrong figuring the length and girth.
