Im shipping a 12 x 12 x 16 box thats 3lbs 12 oz but it seems that none of the usps options have a box this big. What shipping options can i use? I would prefer usps because they pick up the box from my house for free.

What would be cheaper going into the usps office or ups store and shipping this? I didnt know this was going to be difficult. Ive shipped tons of stuff, even gaming consoles and never had this much trouble.

At this point, it may make sense to cancel the sale, rather than get charged up the yin yang for shipping, have it damaged due to haste packaging, etc.
Sounds like you're in over your head. If I was there, I'd have your item boxed up in no time with whatever franken materials were available to me, I've done it literally 100's of times but I'm not there.
And no, going to the counter or ups store is easily the most expensive way to ship items as you lose the online/commercial base rate that is afforded to all eBay sellers. UPS store is $$$$$$$$$$$$$$

How much is $$$$$$$$? $20? $30?

The box alone probably run you $15

You charged your buyer for USPS Parcel Select, so they may not like it if you go changing carriers on them.
I'd stick with USPS, packaging the item within bubblewrap within a secure box of whatever size will give it at least an inch or two of safe cushioning around all sides. Collectors value the original item's box condition as much as the item itself.

Shipping retail, i.e., at the Post Office or at the UPS Store, will always cost more than purchasing shipping at online rates.
Why is this package giving you trouble? Just purchase an eBay shipping label through eBay for Priority Mail, or you can ship it as originally listed, via Parcel Select Ground, if you purchase your label through PayPal at

The usps priority mail is $46, the priority regional all show box sizes similar to 14 x 15 x 3. They meet two requirements but the third is always too small.

You're not going to find any USPS-provided boxes large enough to hold your item, but you are free to use your own box for Priority Mail (i.e. priced by weight and size; not Regional Rate or Flat Rate packaging).
In a pinch, you can get a shipping box in a suitable size from Walmart, for use either as-is or after you cut it down to a better fit. They sell a variety in their Office Supplies aisle.
Office supply stores sell shipping boxes as well, but I find them either overpriced or requiring purchase in packs of three.

None of the free USPS boxes is big enough to hold your item. The largest one is 12 by 12 by 8 inches.
As noted above in the discussions of dimensional weight, USPS is going to charge you the postage cost for 14 pounds. If you're shipping to Zone 7 then the online postage cost is $46.40. Parcel Select Ground would cost $43.50. You can't do better than that through USPS.

I put $45 in my paypal account and go yo the link given, calculate parcel select and still gives an error saying not enough funds.

You can use any box (except alcohol boxes) to mail priority, it doesnt have to be from the USPS. Just make sure to mark through any existing printed bar codes.

Omg does usps parcel select count toward free first class or free priority pickup?

No; it's not on the list (but doubtful your carrier will care- be sure to do a pick up on the usps website (go to usps.com and click 'pick up' and you will see the options that are available for pickup (1st Class, Priority & Pr Express); pick Priority and see what happens.

Well it sounds like id be charged $25 for a pickup not on the free list, so i dont want to risk being charged for it being picked up. Ill try to drop it off tomorrow.
