Trying to ship to Poland -

Label page wants a 'hs tariff code' - doesn't matter if we pick real usps international shipping or ebay's freight forwarding one - Now the popup has a link to search for code but it sends me to a page for hs codes to ship into, not out of, the US - found the tariff page we think is for shipping out of the US-

After an hour of trying to find code we THINK it's - 8517.14 - but put that in with and without the '.' and selecting both usps international shipping or ebay's freight forwarding - and the page doesn't reload and ship button stays dead.

Anybody know the code?

Thank you but you're only 2/3 right - and we wound up being 'correct but wrong' - let me explain but first ...

I'm so dumb ...Haven't sold/shipped anything international since the new ebay shipping thing took over from the old one, and completely forgot I have to check the 'I have read ... ' box before I can print.

But that being said, the number you gave us - 8517 - is only part of the number, and the number we finally found - 8517.14 - is correct but not in the format that ebay wants/accepts. Ebay wants 8517 no dot 14.

If we use the EISD we can leave the HS box blank.

Using USPS, 851714 works ... after you check mark the 'I have read' box

So again thank you and it's off to print a label.

If you are mailing it yourself, I recommend that you use a 10 digit TARIC code, which is standard for EU. Some countries may use only an 8 digit code, but if you use 10, your package will go thru the electronic customs clearance.

On the other hand, if you use an 8 digit code, and the country uses a 10 digit code, then your package will be rejected and returned.

I learned it hard way with ireland. I used a 6 digid code (I don't think any EU coontry accepts a 6 digit code) and my packages were returned with a note that they could not be cleared electronically. After the third package, I did do ' serious' research about these TARIC codes, and started to use the 10 digit codes. Since then, 2 packages to Ireland sailed thru the customs. I mail around 100 packages to EU/year. Zero problems when using a 10 digit code.

You are also correct, on the customs form there should be no periods, just the number.

Are the ebay labels set up for the code to be any longer than 6 digits? As the op mentioned, they have to take out the . in the code on their label so perhaps 6 digits is the max?
