What is going on?

Ok I had ordered something from China or somewhere in that area.... anyway I had gotten a message from the seller if i want to cancel my order.... I said yes but haven't heard from him back.... Am I being paranoid or should I leave it alone?

Hard to tell what is going on. Did you get your refund?  If not you will need to find the last estimated delivery date on the order and then wait until the day AFTER that and go to the Resolution Center and file an INR case.  You are protected under the MBG and should get your money back.

Now, DO NOT attempt to file a case for a "Return" or something else.  You have to follow the procedures correctly or lose protection under the MBG.  kudos to you for finding these boards for help and asking up front! Many do not and create all kinds of troubles when they "think" they know what to do and mess up the process.  GL

@raycockrel0

You got played and here is how/why.

When the seller can not ship something because it is out of stock (OOS), then the seller has to cancel the order.  The options for canceling the order are "something wrong with address," buyer requested or OOS.  IF the seller has to select OOS then they get a DEFECT on their account.  But this seller was able to get you to request a cancellation, so the seller gets off the hook and gets no defect when they are in effect OOS!

So now you need to find the last estimated delivery date (EDD) on you purchase history.  IF you do not receive a refund or the item by that date, then the NEXT day, you go to the Resolution Center (link at bottom) and file an item not received (INR) case.  If you have any questions in the process, come back here and ask and someone will guide you through.

So all you can do is wait for the EDD to expire. BUT is you follow the process properly, you will get a full refund.

Re: What is going on?

What confirm the cancellation is that eBay is giving you the opportunity to confirm that you asked the seller to cancel the order.  Since you did ask the seller to cancel the order you should go ahead and confirm.

You see, next time this happens, IF you didn't ask the seller to cancel you can respond that you didn't and then the seller gets the ding on their account.

Not enough information - help us help you!

How did you pay?  Use CC or CC with PP? or PP?

What is the last estimated delivery date on the order?

The seller and item are both located in China?

Hi @raycockrel0 do not agree to cancel

until after you get your refund.

Re: What is going on?

If what you got looks like what @ga-8370  posted then I agree - do not cancel until you get your refund.

But still it appears as through the complete story isn't told with all of the information.
