Just got a message from a buyer that their package has not arried yet. I checked the tracking number and the post office web site (but now eBay) says:
"The package is delayed and will not be delivered by the expected delivery date. An updated delivery date will be provided when available. Your item has arrived at a facility at 4:09 am on March 12, 2018 in DPO."
What the heck is a DPO?
By the way, this is going from Nevada to Wisconsin so the eastern storms might have been a problem. BUT prior to this scan it showed that it arrived March 5 at the Chicago International Distribution Center.?????? INTERNATIONAL?
eBay simply states "The delivery has been delayed".

DPO stands for "Diplomatic Post Office".
It's an overseas post office, operated by the USPS for diplomatic offices.

A designated USPS civilian Post Office that falls under the jurisdiction of the postmaster of either New York or San Francisco. These facilities are operated and managed by the Department of State to serve overseas personnel at U.S.
embassies and consulates. Department of State mail addressed to a DPO shows in the last line address information “DPO” and the appropriate two-letter state abbreviation (AA, AE, or AP), followed by the ZIP+4 or 5-digit ZIP Code.

FWIW-- all diplomatic shipments to Canadian diplomats go to Box 500 Ottawa Canada.
No matter where in the world the officer might be.
Sounds like someone was transferred to an offshore office and used a Change of Address form to have all his mail redirected to the diplomatic bag for that country.
