Anybody know what "missent" on tracking means. I have a widget that shows "missent". Item was handed over to USPS on June 29th and shows arrival somewhere in Michigan but then shows missent as of yesterday with nothing further in tracking.

Means that it went to the wrong place. Did it show delivered or just arriving at a USPS facility in Michigan?

Now needs to be sent to the correct distribution center to be routed to the correct USPS post office for delivery

It means someone threw it in the wrong bin, or an automated sorting machine sorted it into the wrong bin.
Because of that, it got on the wrong flight.

Literally what it says.... The only time I've seen it marked like that is when it went to the wrong post office (city) in an area...... I've had packages go to the wrong end of the country and they don't mark it mis sent.....

Same. If it makes a detour while it's en route, that won't show anything on the tracking; "Missent" only happens when it ends up at the wrong destination PO.

Missent just means that it somehow got shipped to the wrong facility. Occasionally, we will get letters and packages for a California address zip starting 938 when ours is a zip 438, do to the font or heck a speck of lint on the scanner eye reads 4 instead of 9. It will be sent back into the mailstream.
