Did you mean:

What do you do when a buyer buys from you then asks if you will ship it faster

than your stated handling time.

This happened to me. I just got back from the post office. Dropped all packages off. Had my handling time set to 5 days so I could take a break. Somebody buys something from me then asks if I will ship it fast. They should ask questions then buy rather than buy then ask questions. But they think they can bribe the seller with money to hurry up and ship faster than they want to.

Sometimes such requests mean scam. If a buyer requests to expedite shipping (especially if asking for Overnight), it is a common scam.

Other than that, if someone is nice and I can ship sooner, I ship. If I am not at home and set my handling time to when I can ship, then I don`t ship.

5 days handling time is ridiculously slow.

Any special arrangements like upgraded shipping need to be made before bidding.

Not all sellers are able to accommodate such requests.

Message that buyer and explain.  If this is one of the packages you just mailed, you might mention that also.

I'm considering taking next week off, too - but if I do then I'll use the Time Away setting rather than extend handling time as a lone action. With Time Away you can set up an out-of-office message that will let buyers know you're on a break even if you're still accepting orders during that time.

Regardless, if you're able to ship then ship. If not then tell the buyer you'll ship it within your handling time by X date. Tell them you can cancel the transaction if that's too late for them.

I either do it or don't based on my schedule & whether it's feasible.   Then I communicate my decision to the buyer by letting them know my handling time & whether or not I can accommodate.   They can cancel, if it doesn't work for them.

I assumed from the OP's statement that all packages had been mailed that this package was already on its way.

Sounded to me like the order came in after they got back from the PO.
