What do I do?

Buyer bought my old phone and is claiming package was empty on arrival. Sent pics of it in Royal Mail clear bag. Looks ripped open to me. Royal Mail saying it could have snagged on machinery even though I wrote fragile on it. Can only claim up to £50 due to second class signed for postage. I’m down £200. The buyer demanding refund but there is nothing for him to return to me. May I add he sells tons of phones on his eBay account.

Re: What do I do?

Not sure what your options are in the UK, you might want to post this on the UK boards.

In the US, if the post office finds an empty package they usually put a sticker on it say it was damage in transit. All that does is make it easier to file an insurance claim.

As far as the buyer is concerned, you'll probably going to have to refund him and recover what you can from insurance. Purchasing insurance for the full value is to protect you, not the buyer.
