I sold a brand new set of sheets in the package to a buyer a few days ago. The buyer just sent me an email saying she washed the sheets and the red part of the sheets bled on the white part and now it’s pink. She says she washed them in cold water and was upset. Do I have to refund her ? Shecwash d these new sheets.
Thank you

I don't know what set, but your sheets appear to be all high-quality and this shouldn't have happened.
Since you offer 30-day returns, they could open an INAD and win (although I feel that you are in the right), dang it.
Since you're not a TRS, you can't lessen the refund amount, dang it.
What about this??? Ask your buyer to use Shout 'Color Catchers' and wash them again. They really do work...
Heck, you'd be out way less money to buy a package and ship to her, dang it.
Good luck!

I told her to use the shout out fabric catcher. She is soaking it now in dawn she says..

Good advice.
Too bad she chose Dawn... it'll do nothing. Soaking in detergent in the washer for a day or two might work, though.
At least the buyer is trying... I think she realizes she got some great (discontinued, no?) sheets at a fair price and really wants to keep them.
Keep a friendly line open with the buyer. She's gaining experience, if nothing else. Support her... it may work out!

Top Rated Seller. TRS sellers have the option of deducting up to 50% of the refund if the item was returned in significantly different condition than when shipped.

If the buyer claims they are defective and files an INAD, you'll have to refund and pay return shipping if you want the sheets back.

I sell new sheets if I can find them and am always afraid of this happening. Did you ask for pictures? If you want to mitigate the damages ask her to wash them again in hot water. Sometimes the package recommends washing before using, also cotton dyes bleed more than the sheets that are cotton blend. Chances are the areas that have dye will eventually wash back to white.

why was she washing red sheet with a white sheet? Maybe the second wash would be okay, but definitely not the first wash.

Hot water will just make them worse.

My suggestion would also be to soak with the color catch sheets...maybe two or three sheets in the water. If the red comes out of the white portion and the sheets look good again, before drying them, I would soak the sheets again in some cold water with white vinegar added or with a good dose of table salt added. Vinegar and table salt both are good at setting dyes that tend to bleed...in my experience.

The problem here is that she WASHED THEM. it's not your problem. She admitted to changing what she bought from you. Case Closed.
