Hi All,  Can E-bay motors suggest a reliable company to transport a vehicle I sell on e-bay to the new owner?  Pennsylvania to Indiana 600 miles.

Re: Vehicle Transport

eBay motors is a category, not a person.

(And watch me get blasted for this answer.)

Re: Vehicle Transport

But I was told that there is a phone number for them and a live person will (possibly) answer.

Re: Vehicle Transport

In most cases it would be up to the buyer to arrange pickup and shipping, not the seller. The seller can help by having the vehicle ready for pickup. The buyer will need to find a transport company to move the car between the two locations, and they would be the ones paying for transport. There are a number of them, so the buyer would need to check.

Selling of vehicles on eBay are non-binding, either party can walk away and buyers are expected to inspect the vehicle before paying and getting paperwork. If you follow though, the people picking it up will need the code from the buyer that you will need to post on the purchase page to show they picked it up.

"Buyer is responsible for vehicle pickup or transporting. $500.00 deposit due immediately at close of auction, *non-refundable*. Balance payable in cash, (green money). Title to be transferred or at the very least notarized before vehicle leaves my possession."

Maybe you are just looking for suggestions to help, still would not be in our best interest to suggest one, esp if something went bad. Most all vehicle transport company have reviews on line that can be check.

Re: Vehicle Transport

You have to search transport companies or the buyer does. eBay does not help with that.  There are a lot of them. You can expect it to cost 1200-2000 dollars.

Re: Vehicle Transport

There is not a phone number for eBay Motors specifically.  You can use Help & Contact at the bottom of any eBay page, but it's doubtful that you are going to get recommendations that way.

Re: Vehicle Transport

eBay would have no clue as to a recommended transport company.  Whoever makes the  decision be certain the carrier has insurance.  Gypsy drivers are usually the cheapest but often don't insure.

Re: Vehicle Transport

If you go to Copart or IAA they have a series of links to auto shippers.  You can then go to their website and request a quote.

I was quoted in the $800 range for around 1200 miles city to city for a full size Suburban.  That's probably gone up since fuel prices are considerably higher now.

Re: Vehicle Transport

I know this is a little late but I've used The Car Carriage out of Dallas, TX. I believe they transport cars nationwide.
