Vacant address

I shipped an item to a buyer using his Paypal provided address. USPS tracking said the address is vacant and the package is going to be sent back to me. It's been 10 days and I haven't seen the package. How do I proceed?

Go to the USPS website. Check under the heading 'Track a Package'. Enter the tracking # to verify the status. If you need additional help you fill out a short form. They will begin to track it down.
I utilized that service just last week and the USPS were hot on it.

I'd put a trace on the package--either call USPS (my preference) or do it online. When you get the package back, cancel the sale through eBay so that you can get your final value fees refunded to you; choose the reason as "Something is wrong with the address" so that you don't get a defect for cancelling.

Track the package, if it doesn't show movement ask your Postmaster to check the internal tracking. 

Returns do take longer than normal mail movement. They get treated a lot like Media Mail they move when there is room, and packages have been extremely heavy these past few weeks and getting heavier by the day.

Do not refund until you get the item back, then I would refund minus the cost of shipping as a "problem with address".
