Usps first class increase?

Have you noticed any increase in USPS first class about 30 or 40 cents recently? i feel like most of my USPS first-class mails started from $3.12 but the cheapest one now is $3.49. is it just me or has that happen to anyone else?

@lark-shahn There is a holiday surcharge in effect as of October 1st 3rd.

First Class package service now starts at $3.31, for shipping up to 4 ounces to Zones 1&2.  Each of the rates that we paid last week has gone up 30 cents.

I have said this on some other threads. Time to do some research on shipping. Pirate ship just signed a deal with UPS. Not an eBay sale but I regularly ship to Japan. They quoted me UPS 2-5 day shipping of  24 x 16 x 12 12 pound package $20 less than USPS Priority International 6-10 day shipping. Maybe its some kind of launch promotional time will tell.

I am looking at all potential shippers now not just because of the cost but also the unpredictability of USPS. I will say USPS international seems to work fine. I think in the case of Japan,  Japan Post actually takes possession of the package once its cleared the office of exchange. I have had long delays in the EU.  Customs clearance seems to take weeks.

Actually I have seen that Priority Mail has jumped quite a bit in price also. Only the USPS can slow the delivery service down while at the same time raise the cost. I wonder with the raised holiday pricing if we will get the same fine service we got last Christmas?

exactly! Just an example i have sent 3 items about 2 weeks ago and all i received was a delay. all the customers asked for a refund which is fair but all of them got delivered yesterday!

This potential "temporary" change was announced some months ago on eBay.
It was also announced in the local press as well as the TV news here.

Not just the rate increase but first class mail is actually parcel as it goes via truck now when there is a BIG shortage of truck drivers.  I REALLY think USPS is doing this so people will get disgusted and buy expensive priority mail making them more money. Ebay loves it s here will be more late deliveries resulting in an additional 5% fee increase.
