Using USPS Adhesive Postage Stamps to Ship Orders

I acquired several rolls and sheets of stamps, quite a few hundred dollars worth and I'd like to use them. If I use these, how do I get an address, not shipping, label from Ebay, or do I even need one, just print my own, and how would I get a tracking number? I suspect most will be ground advantage, some will be priority. I have some priority stickers but in the case of GA, should I write ground advantage on the package?

Thanks in advance.

You may want to consider just selling some of them on ebay. I just did a quick search and there are many listings.

I always need stamps for the few utility bills I pay by snail mail.

I was actually thinking the same thing with only putting some stamps and get a label. Ill let you know if it flies

I find it hard to believe that you can't get a tracking number because you used stamps! I will know for sure tomorrow, but that doesn't seem right. I'll report back.

I just Googled "does usps issue tracking numbers for stamped packages?"

Results:

No, standard stamped packages like First-Class Mail letters, flats, and postcards do not include tracking numbers, as this service is not part of the standard postage. Tracking is included with services like Priority Mail and Express Mail, or can be purchased as an extra service for eligible items.

When tracking is not included
  • Standard mail: Items sent with a regular stamp do not have tracking because the postage does not include this service.
  • Un-trackable items: Postcards, First-Class Mail letters, and flats are not eligible for USPS Tracking by default.

When tracking is included or can be purchased
  • Paid services: You can add tracking to certain items by paying for an extra service when you mail them.
  • Traceable mail classes: Services like Priority Mail and Express Mail include a tracking number as part of their cost.
  • Online postage: If you pay for postage online, such as through USPS Click-N-Ship or other services, your receipt or label will have a tracking number for eligible items.

Then right below that, there was another question asked in a different way.

Can the USPS track stamped mail?

    No.
First-Class Mail does not include USPS Tracking®. Although First-Class Mail postcards, letters, and flats are not eligible for USPS Tracking, those items are eligible for other extra services that provide barcodes for scanning. These extra services can be purchased, providing some tracking information.

Who would want to do this anyways? It's not 1999 Ebay anymore. 😄

Technically you can do that. You'll be paying the retail rate and it'll take more time to ship because you have to individually get a label for each item at the PO. You'll also have to manually upload tracking to each order, being careful not to typo on the tracking number.

If the time is not a problem for you and the significantly higher retail rate is not a problem for you, then that's an option you can use.
