Hi,
I tried to purchase signature confirmation for a package today. I was able to check the box but when I went to print the label, the signature confirmation block became unchecked and the fee was not included.
I thought I might have made a mistake so tried again, to make sure I purchased the confirmation. And again, the signature confirmation disappeared. I did purchase $500 insurance as this was an expensive item.
any thoughts on why this happened? I have a few more expensive things to sell and I don’t want to sell them unless I can have the signature confirmed.
thanks and happy selling!

I am unsure what shipping method you are using but if its USPS then its supposed to come with signature because of that much insurance
on an expensive item I normally will go for 300 of insurance just in case there is a snafu with the signature due to covid or a carrier in a hurry

Are you shipping this FedEx? FedEx automatically requires signature confirmation for all packages that have a declared value of $500 or more ... if so, I'm assuming the box wasn't available because you already have signature confirmation included.

Yes, although unless something's changed, the USPS used to say that the insurance signature they collect for insured packages of $500 or more is for the carrier's protection only, and is not visible on-line, which makes me wonder why the Signature Confirmation option seems to be auto-cancelling itself due to the insurance in place.
This might be a good question to ask at this afternoon's Weekly Chat.

Once you buy insurance, signature confirmation comes with it, it's automatic

Just to clarify:

Hi @oldcheesenips thank you for your post. We're aware of limitations in purchasing signature confirmation in the eBay mobile app, which will be resolved in early 2022. Meanwhile, you can purchase signature confirmation for your label using the eBay website on desktop. Hope this helps!

It wouldn't matter, once package is insured, delivery to Buyer is guaranteed
Signature confirmation is for items not insured
You can ship Fedex but insure by third party, insurance of any amount will guarantee delivery or pay off by insurance Co in event of lost or stolen

thank you for a definitive answer............ maybe by the springtime
is nice to know that ebay announces a fix will take months
I guess nobody buys signature confirmation on the app
I find this sort of thing embarrassing for ebay

And this is the reason I don't trust Fedex Signature Confirmation for now. Receiver could refuse signature. Item will be left on porch. I say; you're better off insuring the package
