I've listed and sold a few items that I want to send USPS parcel select but that is no longer an option when I go to purchase the shipping label even though that is what the buyer requested and paid for. The closest option is priority mail. Has this happened to anyone? Is there a fix for it? I am now listing items with priority shipping to avoid this problem but don't want to have to go change all of my listings.

eBay has decided to phase out access to Parcel Select Ground labels, even though USPS has made no changes in their services or policies, and it's offered by all other online postage sellers including PayPal, endicia, stamps.com, etc. When it's not offered, the shipping label page usually defaults to the first option on the list which is flat rate envelope. You can purchase Parcel Select Ground postage through PayPal at
www.PayPal.com/shipnow
But do compare prices before you do that. For Zones 1 - 4, the USPS online price for Priority Mail is less than a dollar more than Parcel Select Ground. If you're a TRS you get a 3% discount when purchasing Priority labels through eBay, which often makes it cheaper than Parcel Select
IMHO Parcel Select ground should only be offered when necessary such as for hazmat or Oversize packages (i.e., length-plus-girth above the Priority limit of 108 inches).

They have other glitches going on as well. About 12 hours ago I was able to buy media mail for a song book (all sheet music inside) and then about 10 minutes later I had to print another label for another song book but the media mail was 'greyed-out.'
I was offered priority mail, and the drop-down list of options to 'compare' other shipping services available to me was more priority mail along with FedEx and UPS. Yikes!
I immediately went to my PayPal account late last night and printed out a media mail label. Thank goodness for PayPal!

Your buyer did not likley choose Parcel Select, it appeared to them as the first option and they accepted it. I've found Priority is usually cheaper so upgrade and have never had a complaint. Infrequent buyers don't know the difference.

Why deal with "not likely" when you can easily look up the OP's recent Sold items and see that the listing only offered Parcel Select?
Parcel Select is cheaper than Priority for you because you'r a TRS and you get a 3% discount on Priority Mail labels purchased through eBay. But the OP is not a TRS, so Priority will cost a little more than PS.

I sold another music book in the last hour that wouldn't let me ship media mail. The photos show the category item was sold in, the shipping choices I was offered by eBay with the "buyer selected" option not available, and the 'find out more' link (to USPS) that eBay provided on the shipping page that confirms why my item was eligible for media mail.
It would almost be funny, except it's not.
What's up eBay?

@na_833338 Rather than hijack this thread which is about a different issue (i.e., eBay phasing out access to Parcel Select postage), you might want to join one of the several recent threads which are about the new glitch in which sellers can't purchase Media Mail for eligible items. Here's one about sheet music. An eBay staff member has replied, indicating that eBay recognizes this as an error and is "working to resolve this."

Oops! My bad! Didn't know about the other threads. I'll stop.
