USPS skipping scans and the new rules

Well I am ok with the new posting tracking rules but what do sellers do when the PO folks forget to scan? There were 4 sent today that should have been scanned twice already and nothing. I guess ebay sees that as my failure. Anyone else experience this? If so how do you keep your % up? thanks

Did your friend just take the package to the counter and drop off or did your friend pay postage at the counter?  I have been at the counter mailing and paying at the counter while others come right up and dump their packages on the counter.  You can bet those packages go right into the bins and don't get scanned.  I have a friend who prints his own labels and postage and he stands right in line with everyone else (SUPER ebay seller) & the clerk happily scans his packages in for him.

It is a seller I bought from ,  I'm the Buyer.  He told me he Handed it over to the USPS employee .

1)  7 packages with eBay pre-paid shipping label were taken to PO - scanned and receipt obtained -

on Good Friday 04.14.17.   Todate the message on those packages still says:
"A shipping label has been prepared for your item at 1:49 pm on April 14, 2017 in THIBODAUX, LA 70301. This does not indicate receipt by the USPS or the actual mailing date."

2) Other packages prior Good Friday and Saturday - 04.15.17 showed updated tracking in the USPS system with no problem.

So, are your packages on this Monday 04.17th still no updates in the USPS tracking system?

For sure, I will NOT be opting in the "door to door"/upcoming proposed GDS program.

I'll just adhere to my own shipping motto of Economy Shipping. Upgrade as I see fits on a case by case basis. Disclaimer in ALL listings that'll state : Handling time is guaranteed as stated in listing, BUT not Delivery. Unless buyer chose shipping option of PM EXPRESS OVERNITE.

Even PM EXPRESS OVERNITE may not work out - if whomever is not at the destination to receive package.  As I just PM EXPRESS ONITE one package on Thursday 04.13.17. Guaranteed arrival on the

Good Friday -04.14.17 - Delivery Failed because the Business was CLOSED.  This PM EXPRESS O/NITE

was delivered today.

Our 7 packages just have their USPS tracking updates shown in the system.

The tracking showed scanned on 04.14.17. Back to norm. All good.

I've found that it's not at all unusual for tracking to not update over the weekend even when the item is clearly in transit.  I mailed something out on a Friday a couple of weeks ago and it showed no tracking past the initial Acceptance scan until that Monday, when all of the tracking that had occurred over the weekend showed up at once.

The seller did the label on 4/11 shipped it 4/12 priority Mail ! and Handing it over to USPS Employee ,which I found out was the carrier . There should have been 3 scans in tracking as of this past Friday. . Yet not a thing!

imho:

Perhaps a request for email update in the USPS site may 'kick' that particular

tracking # to update.

Come to think of it - your particular scenario is a 'death trap' for sellers if they chose

door to door/GDS program.

eBay is making it almost impossible to be a TRS. 95% may be almost unattainable. So they don't have to give you a discount on your FVF.
