Well I am ok with the new posting tracking rules but what do sellers do when the PO folks forget to scan? There were 4 sent today that should have been scanned twice already and nothing. I guess ebay sees that as my failure. Anyone else experience this? If so how do you keep your % up? thanks

I don't worry about it, frankly, although now that you mention it, I mailed several today, some of which were scanned right in front of me, and absolutely none have shown up on-line yet, which tells me that they're simply queued up someplace right now. By tomorrow morning they'll probably be all visible on-line, and the time and datestamps showing will be the original time when they occurred.
In short, if you have a clearly printed, solidly-attached label, it'll show up on-line soon enough.
While this may or may not have anything to do with it, I did read someplace that their new preview-image mail service (I forget its exact name) is supposed to be going live today, so portions of their system may have been taken down temporarily for an upgrade.

If you're mailing multiple packages at once, use a SCAN form. The postal clerks are required to scan those, and all it takes is one scan for all of the packages you're mailing that day.

I am guessing a scan form is for those who buy postage thru ebay and self print. I go and stand in line

Well, turns out the clerk never scanned, first scan was at the sort building, 6 hours after mailing. Just showed, thanks to all who replied. One usps mistake could put you below 95 if you mailed much at one time.

To USPS it's not a mistake, since ebay rules are of no concern to them! The ebay rules are to prevent as many sellers as possible from achieving the discount off fees, so ebay gets to keep more $$.

@chez-desir Why are paying retail for labels? Print the SCAN form after you print your labels for the day. The carrier will scan when packages are picked up from you, or the clerk will scan it at the unit. You don't have to stand in line...go up to the counter, drop your packages, and get the form scanned. Save yourself time and money. And save the buyers money!

The only time you need to worry about being compliant to the on time shipping metric is the the 19th of each month as eBay evaluates sellers once/month on the 20th for the prior months activity.
I your case those 4 packages you shipped yesterday will no be evaluated until May 20. Between Now and then the coordination between eBay and USPS scanning activity has time to get in sync. Would expect in the next few days you will see your on time % increase until then haave a Happy Easter.

My life is better since I decided to blow off the (soon to be 10%). I no longer drag my mail to the counter just to be sure I get immediately scanned.

They had test markets for a couple of years. You can see pictures of all your incoming lettermail envelopes online or have them emailed to you.https://informeddelivery.usps.com/box/pages/intro/start.action

OP~~I ship all my packages at the counter as well. I don't print my own labels or postage. The clerk scans them as soon as he prints and affixes the label onto the package~~he has no choice. That is the only way you get the tracking number on your post office receipt. If he didn't scan it you wouldn't know what the tracking number is.
ALL of my tracking shows as accepted and the time recorded the minute & second he scans that label.
If he didn't scan your packages how did you know the tracking numbers to check what the tracking showed?

Did your friend just take the package to the counter and drop off or did your friend pay postage at the counter? I have been at the counter mailing and paying at the counter while others come right up and dump their packages on the counter. You can bet those packages go right into the bins and don't get scanned. I have a friend who prints his own labels and postage and he stands right in line with everyone else (SUPER ebay seller) & the clerk happily scans his packages in for him.

Hmm, that's odd. Only a month at a time?? They still remember the 4 I did not load tracking on due to a health emergency. my dasboard records go back that far. Maybe this week they will go away at the 90 day period.
