Hi All,
To Prefix this, I am a one and go seller and only sell rarely on ebay. So I decided to sell a quite expensive item on ebay this month and it sold with the best offer method. The Buyer was quite keen on shipping it to an address in the united states in the south even though he was puerto rico. It just seem quite odd to me, either way the address was confirmed on paypal so I abided. I sent out the package nearly the same day and added signature confirmation as I was quite skeptical. Low and behold the package gets attempted delivery and is automatically put on available for pickup. I inform the user before hand to notify the recipients at the address listed someone will need to sign as well.
My problem with all of this is not that they didn't pick it up, but that it is shipping somewhere else as seen on the tracking. It is going to another location it seems which is really weird because I didn't schedule a redelivery or say send back to sender. I posted the tracking number on ebay and the buyer could have possibly altered something? but I don't know either way I am scared that I just got scammed out of my money somehow since it might not be delivered to the right address. Anyone else experienced this?

There are some foreign buyers that use forwarding companies based in the US to buy on eBay. This is so they can buy items that don't ship internationally. This is OK and you can Google the address and see if it is from one of those companies.

That's fine, you did the right thing.

That could be a problem if no one at the forwarding company would sign. As long as the package had tracking and the tracking would show delieverd to the address confirmed on paypal, you would have fufilled your obligation as a seller and you would not have a problem. You didn't need signature confirmation.
Not sure what carrier you shipped, but you may be able to get it delievered by contacting the shipper and removing the signature confirmation. If you bought shipping from eBay, call them and see if they can help you. Good luck.

@johnpaulino44 Only ship to the address on file with PayPal, you will loose what little Seller protection you have if you ship eslewhere.

If you shipped with your own USPS account, you may be able to use package intercept:

If you bought postage through eBay or paypal, call them

In this situation, how would eBay or PayPal be able to help?

It’s being held for pickup.....how is that a scam? Many people have their mail on vacation hold right now.

Oh, sorry. Didn’t read that part. I don’t know what you do in this situation. Sorry. I’m sure someone else can help.

What is odd about a buyer wanting a package delivered to an alternate address?
If you added SC unnecessarily that would explain the 'put on hold for pickup'. I wouldn't have done that unless I had to.

I looked up the address and its a random suburban home
As opposed to the rest of the packages shipped to buyers on eBay?

Account holder?

If he bought shipping through them it would under their account, they would be the USPS customer. The USPS shipping account holder needs to ask for package intercept.
How many times have you asked eBay or Paypal to intercept a package?
Just curious.
