USPS: "Your address is not eligible" for pickup? Really? When did that happen?

Don't know what's going on here. I live in a rural area and local pickup is important, saving me miles of driving to the PO. Could be my local carrier is angry? Scheduled a pick up for one item and then added another item. Geez. I'm banned forever from local pickup?

There are times I've gotten that error message on the USPS site even though I was eligible for pickup. I don't remember what I ended up doing. I think I went to a third party shipping site I had an account with like pirateship.com or stamps.com and scheduled pickups from there.

You could also leave a note in your box with the flag up that there are a couple items on your porch for pickup and the website was having technical issues when you tried to schedule. If you have a decent carrier they shouldn't have a problem grabbing the packages.

Thanks wastingtime101. Will leave tote by mailbox with flag up. Will see what happens.

Never ending drama over a whole lot of nothing.

I've been getting the same thing for two days now, it won't take any address, it gives that warning no matter what on the accounts I handle at work and my personal account.

There was some notice about site maintenance the popped up saying that the rate estimator will be down till 8pm Sat. but I don't see that now and that part works.

If its not storm related they screwed something up.

Same here, it won't let me schedule a pick up at either of may address's.

It worked fine on Wed.

It won't go past the first screen option.

I called the number on their Facebook page and was told that there's a new policy that allows some post offices to not do parcel pickup. A call to the local post master told me there's a major change going on both online and at the local PO level concerning how parcels are handled due to them closing some locations and combining a few others in various locations.  I was told it all should be fixed by next week.

They came out and picked up the packages I wasn't able schedule though but its still unclear as to whether or not the service is going to continue.
