I had a pickup order for a order on Saturday, USPS was running late so I brought the package to him. It was a different mailman but my regular said he was going on vacation so no problem. He didn't say a word opened the back of the truck and was fairly rude with his hand gesture to put the boxes down. But i get it everyone has bad days. He pulled out his scanner and looked like he was scanning the packages so I watched him do a few and went on my way. I later checked to see when they were going to be delivered but they weren't marked as accepted. Odd but I have had that happen before. It has been a day and a half and i checked again and they haven't moved\shown as accepted. I am starting to get a bit worried as one was a time sensitive project.

The scan could be delayed or he didn't actually scan the item properly.
I've ran into both situations.
The scan really makes no difference in the time it will get there.
I've had packages pickup first scans scans at destination facility.
Your best bet to make sure for a scan is visit the PO. Using kiosk or counter. Both can provide receipt to show successfully scanned.
Without a receipt you don't really know if the scan went through.

Next time give the carrier a scan sheet. That way they only have to scan one thing & all of your parcels would receive a pickup scan.

With the holiday Monday and not seeing a scan yet, you might not see a scan until Tuesday or when it hits a distribution center.

Yeah... if the carrier did get the packages into the mailstream yesterday, then updates might still appear, since the mail keeps moving behind the scenes. But otherwise, if the packages did not leave town yesterday, then they'll most likely not show any outbound movement before Tuesday.
