Item has been stuck in transit for a week now and tracking has not updated. This is the first time this has happened to me as a buyer.
Anyone seen this before? How many days do I have to wait more ?
It just an expensive package so i’m a bit anxious about it.

I have sent out packages that were handled by the usps that have traveled a STATE for longer than a week !! Packages that traveled the USA for a 2 week span already !! Some packages get to see more of the country than most people WILL EVER GET to SEE !! SOMETIMES the NEXT thing you know it shows up on your doorstep !! If need be when you call the usps they will start there , at the last tracked spot !!

Go to the USPS website & sign up for text notifications of all tracking updates. Somehow, signing up for notifications often has the magical effect of making packages reappear.
Also, if you call or visit your local post office and provide the tracking number, USPS personnel can see details in their tracking system that are not available in the public interface.

Frankly, owing to the state of the weather many areas of the country are experiencing, I'd advise having a little patience these days.

Amen @7606dennis! I checked shipping dates to be sure there’s no chance these packages were on the plane that went down in Texas. Although it was an “Amazon” delivery plane, I have an eBay pal who had 2 USPS packages on it, that were not FBA.

I have had this happen a number of times. It really helps to call the local post office branch. You can ask the postmaster who will check with the carrier. However, I have had packages simply disappear for no apparent reason. I always file a search but have NEVER had the post office find a lost package. One time, six of my packages never had the labels scanned and showed no tracking, despite having the tracking numbers uploaded (by me). The second scan at the central shipping location showed up two days later, however. I discovered that the postal carrier who picks up the packages from the local private shipping company (Postal Connections) did not scan any of the packages they picked up. Consequently, all of them were marked by eBay as being shipped late. I called the Postmaster, who contacted the store and I believe that carrier was reprimanded. However, those six late shipments will remain on my account for a year. Supposedly, you can get the postage refunded on a lost first class package, but it takes months for the USPS to notify you, apologetically, that they could not find your package. I have also received labels from the lost package returned to me (without the item) and with no reimbursment for whatever their machine did to my package. Again, they were sincerely sorry.
