Hello all, I dropped off four packages 3 days ago at my local PO. My post office has a secure drop box where I can put the packages and nobody can go in and steal them.

Three of these packages are already on their way, but the fourth one hasn’t tracked at all. It says shipping label created USPS awaiting item. I asked the clerk today and he said “we don’t do an origin scan at the post office, we send the packages out to the distribution center without scanning.” This makes no sense!!! Now I will have to wait in the long line every time to watch them scan my packages.

this item is going from NYC to Miami Florida. Should I be worried yet? Thanks everyone.

Dont worry. Rather try not to worry. Its become common now for USPS to not scan when dropping off. It's not nice but that's what's happening. It has happened where there's no scan for a week (or more).

I put 40 packages a week in the box also and walk out the door with no scan.Its very common for the scan to be skipped for quite a few days due to the backed up situation with USPS.

i have lots of faith in the USPS.tracking is being skipped for now

I just went through this and it’s been extremely frustrating and the inability to contact an actual human at eBay has made it even worse. I dropped off a package on December 14th (sale price of $770+). USPS didn’t scan it in. After a few weeks, seller asked eBay for a refund and they granted it. Fast forward to this week...sure enough the item gets delivered so now seller has the item and their $770+, while I have nothing. Trying to appeal the refund but the link on the case details just takes me to a seller help page. Nowhere to actually submit an appeal. No email back from eBay. All because eBay ruled in favor of the buyer even after I confirmed with USPS that the order was still on its way, just very delayed.

Try up to 4 weeks. It’s happened to a butt load of my packages. Many just say label created... then 4 weeks later “delivered” and it’s at the buyers door step.

I agree. It was up to 4 weeks. Now USPS has picked up the pace somewhat. Post said she dropped off 3 days ago. Hopefully better for you also with delivery times.

I’m so sorry this happened! You can definitely call eBay. There is an option at the bottom of the help pages for them to give you a callback.

Called Usps and got a case opened. Still no tracking on day 4. My buyer hasn’t messaged me at all so I guess I’m just gonna wait it out and see what happens.

Shame on eBay, I just had a case go for the buyer after he returned the wrong item, a dirty used jacket he sent instead of the new with tags one that we shipped him. I have also had the same thing happen with USPS, when is eBay going to stop screwing sellers over?

The package has been scanned! It went from the 5th to 9th with no scan and is now in the destination state. Luckily it’s not missing. Until this backlog is sorted out I think I will be insuring all my items and walking them up to the clerk window for drop off.

Never doubted it for a second. It got delivered quite fast though considering everything thats been happening.

I lost my TRS and most likely will be for awhile because USPS doesn't scan my packages now until a week later, and they deliver weeks late. They amazingly however have only lost one package of mine.

I do pickups only because I refuse to stand in long lines at the post office to get an acceptance scans on every package. Plus, every time I do it the clerk has an attitude and hissy fit like they are not obligated to do it.

At this point, if your packages get a scan in a week, I consider that lucky.
