The USPS is holding my international orders due to coronaviris. My local post master told me this 2 weeks ago when an order failed to reach the buyer in Ireland. Anyone else having this issue and are you considering removing international sales until this has run it course?

I was unaware that they were diagnosing packages with the virus. Modern medicine continues to fascinate me...

USPS priority first class. It showed tracking to Chicago and nothing beyond.

Me too! One of the other employees has told me USPS is accepting shipment from China and they come through our post office daily. I have asked the post master about my order to Ireland and they stand by the original statement. So frustrating as I don't want to make an enemy here.
My customer has patiently waited 6 weeks and I have refunded the purchase. I have a suspicion some postal worker in Chicago swiped it and it has conveniently quit tracking. The customs label gave very basic information as not to draw unneeded attention.
Last year I shipped an order to Hawaii, customer chose parcel select shipping. The order sat in San Francisco until the bin was full enough to ship. 3 weeks passed and the buyer wanted a refund on a no show order. Ebay said to refund and a few days later I refunded. Few days later and tracking showed it was delivered to the mailbox. I email the buyer daily for 3 days and got no response. Ebay told me that because I 'chose' to refund they had no recourse. Post office said it could be considered fraud and I could try to recover my item or money, but said it would be a long drawn out task. So I cut my losses and chalked it up to doing business on line. All of my listings now over a certain $ amount are priority only to stop this from happening again.

My thoughts too. But this person at the local office can be hard to deal with and I don't want to make an enemy of them. I appreciate your input and insight!

What a load of nonsense. While Ireland is not on the e-DELCON list, the UK (Great Britain, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales) is, and traffic is moving normally. I have a package that left Chicago on the 27th, passing through London today on its way to delivery in Scotland probably on Monday.

I ship overseas on a daily basis, Especially Great Britain. I also buy from Europe almost daily.
I've experience no delays at all.

What is USPS Priority First Class ? Did you send Priority mail or 1st class international ?
As stated before if you sent 1st class tracking stops at the US, there will be no further tracking beyond the border.
Ireland is not part of E Delcon, your postmaster is blowing smoke up your ***

Do you mind if I ask you for some details on your successful shipment to Canada? Did you ship from the USA? And, most importantly, were you able to ship through the Ebay Global Shipping Program?
Thank you.

Might depend on where in Michigan you're shipping from. I've not had this problem until this week, but they are having staffing issues in several of the sort centers in Detroit. Friend of mine has had stuff tied up for over a week.
I have gone as far as taking my packages to a post office 30 minutes away rather than 5 minutes so that they don't go through Detroit distribution centers.
