USPS - can you tell what type of service just by the tracking number? (1st class, priority, etc?)

Enter the tracking number at usps.com and scroll down to the "Product information" line on the results page.

I'm not sure about nationwide but I know locally every package that I ship that starts with 9400 is first class. Every package I ship priority will start with a 9405 number. So although different locations may use a different number sequence it would appear that the first 4 numbers will differentiate between which method of USPS shipping a person used.
