I see where FedEx Home Delivery shipping rates are significantly lower than USPS Priority rates on 1lb+ packages. I've always used USPS Priority...anyone out there switched to FedEx Home Delivery From USPS and if so, pros/cons/advice??

BE VERY CAREFUL.
If you advertised and/or billed your buyers for USPS then switching to FedEx is a BIG no-no. Don't be surprised to get negative feedback for doing it.
If you want to offer FedEx then offer BOTH and make sure YOUR BUYER has the choice to pick USPS or FedEx. Then whichever one they pick USE THAT ONE even if the other is cheaper.
Some buyers have a very strong negative feeling about one or the other. Use the wrong one and you are in big trouble.

I agree with richard1rst. I am one that has problems with FedEx. From non delivery to putting the packages in odd places (bed of a pick-up owned by a visiting friend of my daughter) to abuse (throwing a cell phone so hard the package hit the back wall of the garage, putting a large parrot cage totally blocking the entry door) to just slapping a door tag on the front of my mailbox (once in full veiw of me following him up our single lane road).
So I avoid sellers using FedEx.
Also FedEx will be adding surcharges (fuel, residental delivery, ect) to that base rate.
