Anybody else wondering how your going to survive with the latest price increases? This is crazy! 2 ounces 3.36 local. Unbelievable. May have to change strategy.

Re: USPS Pricing

My strategy has been to incresingly list items on Offerup local sales app: items that are not expensive enough to make profit after shipping and fees on Ebay. I'm talking 5 and 10 dollar items, and also items that are heavy and bulky I sell on Offerup  (some do Craiglist) with NO SHIPPING, local pick up only

Re: USPS Pricing

Working for the USPS was the best alternative to going into the military for young kids with no ambition.  I knew several mid 40s guys planning their retirement because they started with the USPS when they left high school.  Some of the wealthiest guys I met before the 1990's delivered mail and loved it.  You just needed to have the right mind set for the tedium of the work.

Re: USPS Pricing

That's ok. My 2 liter of soda went from $1.89 to $2.49 last week.  Brought new headlights for a car that likes eating them yesterday.  Last set I paid $35 for them, this time they wanted $49 for the same set so I went with the cheaper ones.  Need to swap vehicles and make this the daytime vehicle again so they last longer.  🙂

Anyways what isn't going up right now?  postage, gas, vehicles, real estate, meat, etc all seem to be higher and I bet even the prostitute on the corner raised her prices too

No, I don't think about how I will survive per say.  I plan and scheme on how I will bring in more sales while covering costs.  After ten years of postage price increases you just roll with the inflation.  I was thinking about how in 2011 when I started I was charging $2.48 for up to four ounces with tracking and pocketing 17 cents on each mailing.  That was for 3000 miles.  Now it's $3.79 to break even.

I can recall when I first started 3 ounce first class was just under $2

I was like oh wow, what a deal!

And in just a bit over 10 years, might be closer to 14 the price has doubled.

And still the USPS is (supposedly) going broke.

Just an update -

Looks like Cali gas prices are real close to 5 bucks per gal bucks -  as of 10.24.2021 per AAA - within 15 cents for Premium & within 15 cents  if you use regular.  Guess Cali is the leader of all 50 states as being the highest of them all.

BTW  paid $3.16 -9/10 for regular today - here in GA

Re: USPS Pricing

Try using Pirate Ship for USPS shipping, I find it cheaper to buy thru them.

Re: USPS Pricing

All the shipping couriers are raising their delivery fees. For the price, USPS 1st class rates are still the best game in town. Plus, they pick up at my door Monday-Saturday. Good Ol' USPS is still OK!!!

Good luck
