USPS Parcel Select Ground option

This is the second time this has happened to me.

When listing, I go into the Calculate Shipping Charges to determine the best option for my buyer.  Under USPS, there is an option of Parcel Select Ground.  I chose it along with a second option of Priority Mail.  The buyer chose Parcel Select Ground.  I went out to print shipping label and neither option is available for me to purchase.  Instead it comes up with Media Mail.  ???

My first experience with Parcel Select Ground, I was able to chose the Priority option.  It cost me a few extra dollars out of my pocket to mail, but at least I could print a label to ship it.

Two questions:

Why does Ebay give a shipping option if it won't be available when I go to ship?

AND what am I suppose to do with this package?

Thank you in advance for the advise.

I'm not sure why you posted that information.  All of those are prices to ship a 10-pound package to Zone 8.

$46.40 is the retail price to ship 10 pounds to Zone 8 via Priority Mail.

$36.77 is the online ("Commercial") price to ship 10 pounds to Zone 8 via Priority Mail.

If you are interested in comparing prices, you might want to try eBay's own shipping calculator, which lets you choose whether to display the retail ("in store") or online ("eBay") prices.

USPS Parcel Select Ground option

My buyer chooses Parcel Ground Select as an option then pays that amount, BUT the post offices says no, I have to ship Priority Mail and pay that rate which is higher ( the PSG  is the top of the list)  which you have to scroll down to find. They also told me I can't use the free Priority Mail boxes and would have to use my own. If this is the case, why does EBay list the Parcel Select Ground as an option when USPS won't accept it?
I've done this for 10 years and never had a problem and always use the free boxes.

Parcel Select Ground is only available online; the equivalent service is called "Retail Ground" when purchased at the Post Office counter. Both services used to be known as Parcel Post.  Until a year or two ago, you couldn't buy Retail Ground if you were shipping to Zones 1 - 4, but I think USPS has dropped that restriction.  Why are you purchasing postage at the PO counter instead of through eBay?

Right now, Parcel Select Ground (used to be called   is not available at the post office. They work with online commercial users that are a USPS authorized business partner, eBay being one.  But, you can do as I do, which is after you put the label on, you can take the box t to your local post office and they will accept it there, I wait for them to scan it then It's done.

You could also use pirate ship, stamps.com, shippstation, etc. For me, i use eBay, it's saves a lot of hassle and rates are competitive for packages up to 70lbs. Sure, eBay has glitches, for me it's more peace of mind and, you have this forum
