While everybody else has been rending their clothing regarding the recent USPS announcement concerning the July 2022 First Class Mail increase of 2 cents on Forever stamps (from 58 cents to 60 cents), buried deep inside that announcement was an increase on USPS Media rate, by almost 9%, also scheduled for July 2022.
While the sky isn't falling, Chicken Little did purchase a U. S. Army surplus ballistic helmet, as well as a sturdy Repel windproof umbrella.
And hopefully the scat won't hit the punkah. . ..

Pages 150-152 of this document show the proposed Media Mail rates for July.
Flats are also going up, as are letter stamps, postcard stamps, insurance, PO boxes, and more.
According to pg 173 it looks like the base $50 insurance included with Priority shipments is increasing to $100.

Saw a .30 cent increase on my under 16 oz media ship rate today - while for usps (which evidently bleeds literal money what with the constant rate increases) this might be a good thing, it's a bad sign for consumers - I was fortunate to not have to raise my cost for my customers for the past couple years (mainly on account of my ability to acquire inventory at very low cost) - however I HAD to do so today - I basically passed on the .30 cents to my customers - I'm certain (sarcasm) that will insure me an increase in sales (raising prices that is) - the sale of certain items is, sadly, coming to an end I fear - there is already a narrow market for certain items - raising costs on those things is NOT going to translate into MORE sales (just a guess!)
