USPS Intl Shipping Change, No more plastic sleeves allowed.

This might be mentioned in other ongoing threads, but we were notified today at the post office that the plastic sleeves that are used for intl priority and express on custom forms, are no longer allowed, and the package will be returned. So just putting it out there for those that print customs forms and are use to putting them in the plastic sleeves.

What do they do with the custom forms now?

Have a great day.

We were told just use the first main label form on the package, and to not use the 2nd and 3rd ones that normally go in the sleeve.

Ask the for the reference in the USPS guidelines.  Per the official Jan 26, 2020 international guidelines we are still to use the "approved" plastic slip envelope for customs forms.

I could not find anything on the USPS site that stated this had been reciended.

Any more information about this? I tried contacting USPS customer care and they had no clue what I was talking about. The plastic sleeves have been discontinued from the postal store so I was unable to order them. My local post office said I could just attach the label to the package but I'm not sure anyone that works there knows what they are talking about. I always ship first class package international and have always used the sleeves including on recent packages. Now I'm not sure what to do. I just found this thread because I came here searching for an answer.

@kittykatsadler I have never used them for 1st class and just tape it on the box like a label. I only use the plastic sleeve for the triplicate customs forms.

could just buy the label via paypal and fill out the customs form via their system, thus not bothering with any sleeves or whatnot

The last few Priority packages I sent to Canada and Australia, only the first label "page" printed, not the other three that used to print. I still used the sleeve for the single sheet, no issues with delivery. I didn't know the sleeves were discontinued, I have a big stack of them. I rarely ship Priority or Express International, so I don't know if labels for other countries still include all four pages. I ship a lot of 1st Class International and always tape on that label, which keep getting bigger.

I’ve been shipping international packages every week with the plastic pouch and no issues so far.

I see what somebody else mentioned about the pouches being removed from the USPS store being accurate.

@comics-scifi-collectibles oh wow thank you. I was told to use the plastic sleeves by the local p.o. many years ago and that's the way I've always done it. And it was all unnecessary. Sigh...
