Hi, USPS tried to deliver a package to my buyer and says insufficient address and they are now sending it back to me. Today the buyer opens an item not received case and of course I don’t have my item yet. What do I need to do? This was an expensive item. Thanks as I have never had this happen to me before.

Make sure to upload the tracking to the case and also you can reply to the case so I would include a note saying it was being returned due to an insufficient address,

Even if you purchased shipping through eBay, upload the tracking. If the buyer wants the item, they would need to pay for shipping again. You can invoice through PayPal.

Respond to the case with the tracking number and in the comment section, include something to the effect of "item was shipped to the buyer's address as shown on the order. Buyer supplied invalid address and as such, is undeliverable."
This is a case you will win.
After receiving the return, although you aren't obligated to refund, I'd handle it by issuing a refund deducting for any expenses you incurred such as original shipping and ebay service fee.

Follow the above poster's advice regarding the claim - your first goal here is to get that non-receipt claim handled in your favor.
Once the item is returned to you, and after the claim is closed, you can refund the buyer the item cost minus original shipping and minus a portion of your eBay fees (fee credits are prorated on a partial refund so you won't get back fees on the shipping amount you withhold).
Go to your orders page, find the transaction and select "send refund." On the next page enter the amount.
While you won't be obligated to refund, it's an expensive item so put yourself in the buyer's shoes. You'd want a refund (even if less shipping/fees) if you didn't receive an expensive item you purchased.

Package will be returned and will state on it why it is being returned.
Google the buyer's address to see what the problem might be.
Of course, add tracking to the 'case'.
Until you get the item back...you are not sure what the problem might be.
Could be the eBay shipping label did not have the address correctly printed if you used that service.
A little thing like 'NW' or 'SW' after address can be a big thing...especially in Florida...I remember driving to a store there and couldn't find my way back to my friend's house.

Thanks all, it looks like it was just delivered! What a strange transaction this was.

In which case you STILL want to respond to the case. Enter the tracking number along with a comment that tracking shows it was delivered. eBay doesn't know what is going on unless you tell them. This will, ideally, prevent them from automatically closing the case in the buyer's favor.
