USPS Incorrect Rountings

Anyone else seeing USPS suddenly rerouting packages to the other side of the country? I had two packages routed and landed Hubs in FL and IL, then suddenly they get sent to AZ??  This is causing a sever delay in delivery and also my payout since these little effreers put all my payouts on hold since Nov 2024 with ZERO explanation.

Re: USPS Incorrect Rountings

I learned a few weeks ago that USPS dumped millions into ai to assist with routing.

That tells me all I need to know. No human would send something to Puerto Rico when it's destination is within the lower 48 and originated from the lower 48 - unless they were trolling and trying to get fired.

Add artificial idiocy (ai) to the weather and it's pretty sad.

Re: USPS Incorrect Rountings

USPS has definitely had problems lately.  Some of their issues are probably related to the terrible weather that the Midwest has been experiencing. Remember, bad weather causes air traffic disruption which can affect air traffic in areas that didn't experience the bad weather directly.

Also, USPS is not alone in these woes.  A package that's on its way to me via FedEx from New Jersey is currently in Kentucky even though I live in Massachusetts.  Original delivery date was supposed to be yesterday; now it's set for tomorrow. We'll see!

Re: USPS Incorrect Rountings

The district  customer service USPS  Rep. for my neck of woods  ,Said  that  the AI  to assist  with routing  sorting system has been a total failure for the USPS  . Rep agreed they still need employee's to double check the shipping containers .

Re: USPS Incorrect Rountings

USPS packages taking the tour of  the states is a long standing problem, but now seems to be happening more often. We just had one going to Ca from here - new mexico - Apparently it took it's kid along to check out SIMPSON COLLEGE in Indianola Iowa before heading back west.

Our real problem is the PO has added two default stops to all our shipments.

(see our posts about it)

Sounds like they should be double checking every singe thing it does. That technology is not ready for prime time but huge corps and govt agencies have let it loose to make important decisions. Not a fan!

Re: USPS Incorrect Rountings

I understand that, but why would a package arrive in it's destination state of FL, then route out to AZ, only to go back to FL where it was 4 days prior?

Re: USPS Incorrect Rountings

Yes. This is something that has been happening a lot recently. Today, at the post office, instead of me complaining to the clerk about these kinds of things, the clerk was venting to me and other customers.  Over the last week, there is apparently some massive uptick in this kind of thing...and the clerk stated "apparently it's all over the country." Something's happening here...what it is...is not exactly clear.
