Another one Stuck at the North Houston Distribution Center

I've never posted on here before, but I want to pass along information about any packages that have gone through the Houston Texas or Missouri City Texas general mail facilities. There is a huge delay. It is my understanding from my local postmaster that there has been a machinery breakdown and it has caused a massive delay since most of Southeast Texas mail goes through those facilities. Even if a seller ship their items out on time, it is out of their control what has happened. Tracking indicates that these packages will arrive late. In the packages are also being scanned at that facility.

I live in the Houston area & USPS has been horrible. Normally my packages arrive within 4 business days. One was 3 weeks & I had to refund because the customer was so upset. I'm using UPS right now, better than having to refund right now. Some Congressman are getting involved because of it & people not getting there medication. Just ridiculous!!

I worked for USPS for a year and saw all sorts of shenanigans. I once found a priority mail box under a desk that was mailed a month prior to me finding it. Do no waste your time writing "Handle With Care" on a package because they aren't. In the big mail processing warehouses they have millions of letters and thousands of packages they have to sort and get on the trucks by 6am every morning and packages are sorted by the area they are going, not zip code. For example Florida, GA, Alabama, South Carolina might have one code assigned to them so any package going to one of those states will be thrown together in a large box and then shipped to the mail processing centers that cater to those states and they are separated to their respective states there. I'm serious about packages being thrown in the box to. Multiple boxes are lined up and we didn't have time to walk and carefully place packages in the appropriate box. Nope, we picked up a box from the pile, looked at the state on the label and pitched it like a basketball in the appropriate box so if you are mailing a delicate vase, you better pack it well. The ONLY packages I saw handled correctly were those with thousands of dollars of insurance on them. Those were placed in a special area and taken care of by a small team who handled them like they were a baby.
