USPS / Global Post missing package - wrongly delivered to a PO Box in South Hackensack, NJ

Hi,

I am expecting a package sent from the USA to Switzerland.

There are 2 different tracking numbers, one domestic US and one international.

According to the US tracking number, The item has been delivered and is available at a PO Box at 11:32 am on September 11, 2024 in SOUTH HACKENSACK, NJ 07606.

However, the package was supposed to be handed over to Global Post for shipment to Switzerland.

According to the international tracking number, Your item arrived at a shipping partner facility at 5:07 am on September 11, 2024 in SOUTH HACKENSACK, NJ 07606. A delivery date will be provided when USPS receives the package.

Global Post says they did not receive the package, and I am trying to have them go and pick it up in that PO Box. But I have no way to contact USPS and to clarify in which PO Box it has been placed.........

Does anyone have an idea how to locate this package?

Any help would be highly appreciated, thank you!

I could be wrong, but it is possible that the package is going to be transferred to the international carrier at the Hackensack post office location.   In other words, perhaps they are waiting for it to be picked up by Global Post?

This is what I also thought, but 4 different Global Post employees told me that GP did not receive the package and that the delivery in the PO Box is wrong..... However, I am trying to know to whom this PO Box belongs. It is completely insane!

I tried calling this number but it is not operational.

Only the central USPS phone number is working, with only automatic machines. No possibility whatsoever to talk to a human being. It is insane 😞

The package was finally located 🙏🙂🎉, apparently they did a personal research. On its way to me now, already at JFK, thanks for all the replies!

Can you provide some more information please? I'd like to understand what happened, and how it was resolved.

Did USPS find the package? Or was it Global Post?

I looked them up, and they are a private, third-party shipper, who provides international shipping services for merchants. It's similar to eBay's International Shipping, but not provided by eBay.

Hi, I have no idea how it was found, but I guess someone from Global Post went physically to the USPS South Hackensack facility and took the parcel in its PO Box. But really, no idea.

But now I am stressed again, as the parcel has been at JFK airport since Friday September 20 and I still have no update.

It cleared US customs and was handed over to a commercial airline but its status has not changed.
