I sent an item via UPS it was weighed and measured right there in front of me and it came out to 95 dollars to ship the man that runs the UPS store was not happy he initially tried to charge me 240 dollars before I got the label on the ebay app. Dec 11, 2024 my item was shipped everything OK. Dec 21 UPS puts a claim in that I underpaid by 178 dollars, so ebay puts a 178 dollar balance in my account requesting I pay this after the fact. I called ebay and disputed this claim. They said I would have to wait 10 days to hear back what they are going to do. I weighed and put the measurements exactly how the UPS guy told me. Someone please help me out here. This is ridiculous. So after it's all said and done I'm being charged almost 300 dollars to ship an item? It's **bleep** and it seems shadey.

There are a multitude of surcharges that UPS charges that do not show up on the eBay label estimate.
A large item like that would be costly to ship as indicated by the man at the UPS store.

Sounds like the guy at the UPS store was correct on the charge.
The price Ebay gave you was just an estimate.

You should take packages directly to a UPS facility and not to a UPS Store to ship because UPS stores are franchises and they set their own rates and they vary between stores. Some are 30% higher. Some stores charge extra if they serve as a drop-off location. They can also charge you for printing a label. You do not get commercial rates shipping through a UPS Store.

The charge is correct. It's a UPS dispute not an Ebay dispute. Unfortunately this is a complaint we hear a lot. The charge that Ebay system gives for UPS or FedEx is off. Use USPS if you are printing out labels.

If it's that wheelchair, it's probably right.
I don't think you could ship it for $100.

Is this for the wheelchair @esfitzp_0 ? Was it in a rectangular box?
There are many surcharges with UPS and FedEx that are not factored in until the carrier physically reviews the package as eBay's shipping calculator does not currently have a way to factor in non-standard packaging.
In order to help you determine if your charge was legit or in error, view the label details and expand the section on the bottom right that says see cost breakdown (highlighted below in green). Black out order #, tracking #, and buyer ID and post a screenshot.
Please also provide a physical description of the package (box, bag, tube, handle, etc).

Yeah, i just got a $179.00 price adjustment, on top of the $85.00 i initially paid for label. Yes, i sent a large package, which i rounded up the weight by 5 lbs and dimensions by an inch all way around. It was a brand new item, in its factory produced package but somehow, that box grew a few inches and gained 36 lbs (which most likely came from its Dimensional Weight) after item was delivered 11 days prior to the adjustment. Ive got a huge problem with boxes magically growing, especially thick and sturdy cardboard boxes that hold their shape throughout the shipping process. Contacted the company of item I sold to get the exact SHIPPING weight and dimensions of said product as verification for myself, that I put in correct information when buying the label. Slimey tactics and just bad business. Sad thing is, UPS is the more reliable shipping company as far as getting items delivered quickly and my fragile items always arrive unbroken and in great shape. FedEx on the other hand is extremely rough with my shipments, and even breaking a few from rough handling. Ive had small overages before with UPS, but nothing major or worth the time to dispute, so it looks like PirateShip is the best solution to have it both ways. Still disputed the charge with ebay just yesterday, but i have no idea what was said to even dispute the charge. I was just told its being disputed with no record or proof sent to me after speaking with a ebay cust service rep. So, we'll see!

I just recently posted here about my issue with UPS overcharging $175 on a label i already paid $80-$90 for. I reached out to ebay on facebook and was able to provide evidence of the packages weight and dimensions from the company of product I had resold on ebay. Today, I actually got a refund for those charges, after about 2-3 weeks in review. UPS inflated my dimensions and weight on an extremely rigid square box. I originally thought the extra 30lbs that they added were due to dimensional weight being calculated, but after doing the calculations myself, the dimensional weight was below my stated weight i provided to UPS, even with the extra inches they added to the package. This was blatant overcharging by falsifying both the weight and dimensions of my package by UPS.
