I received an item that was shipped via UPS and the item was damage during the shipping process. How can I receive a refund?

1.) Contact your seller
2.) This is a member forum, where only 'other' members are here
1a) if contacting your buyer results in no response, you can open a return for the reason of 'not as described' if the item is damaged and therefore different than what was described/pictured/expected (this 'reason' makes the seller pay for the return shipping label and forces a return even if seller has 'no returns').

Go to your purchase history and click return item and select, the item doesn't match the description as the reason.
The seller will have 3 days to accept the return and pay return shipping or refund without returning.
If they don't, return to the case on day 4 and ask Ebay to step in.

I wouldn't take the advice from message 2 & 3, this is not the sellers problem, they should not lose $ or time dealing with this for issues during delivery. It's a UPS issue now.

It is the sellers problem.
They are supposed to get the item to the buyer in the condition stated in their listing.
Any insurance is to cover the seller.

UPS was the carrier retained by the seller. It's still the seller's issue.
Push the big, blue 'Return this item' button beside the order. Follow the prompts, confirm and submit. Good luck.

It is 100% Sellers problem as they purchased the shipping service - they are the only one that can initiate a claim with said shipping service.

it is the sellers problem. They are responsible for the item until it's delivered in "as-sold" condition. The seller paid UPS for the transportation service (of their property) and insurance if applicable. UPS will only deal with the shipper.
I would advise the seller that it arrived damaged, with a few photos, and ask for instructions as a damaged article claim may involve the carrier needing to inspect contents AND the packaging. If they don't reply in a day or two, then initiate a return for item not as described and return it for full refund from eBay.

Like I said, not the sellers issue
