Does anyone know why this might be? I'm trying to schedule a post office pickup for tomorrow and I am getting a message on the USPS website that says:
"This service is currently unavailable.
We apologize for any inconvenience this might cause."
I'm just hoping this is not a permanent thing as I need the pickup cause my car is acting up.
Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thank you

That site has glitched off/on for years. Try in a couple hours, later today, tonight; or just let the carrier know today that you are putting items out for pickup tomorrow.

The tracking on the USPS site is giving the same error.

I used to drive to the post office when I first started selling. One day my carrier said "just leave a note in your mailbox that you have a package on the front porch" and, of course, "put your flag up"
Ever since then I do just that and only go to the post office when I have larger or multiple packages as to not take advantage of my kind carrier.

Unfortunately, that pick up site has been off more than on for well over a year now. Even when it does work, you sometimes don't get confirmation of the pick up request, nor the confirm that they did pick it up. I just put my packages out with the flag up, if they fit in the box, or leave them in front of the door with a note in the box saying they are in front of the door. My carrier usually looks toward the door first when he is approaching. LOL.

I have had the same happen from time to time.
Here are some things to try...
- try using the USPS APP vs Computer
-try different browsers on computer and phone (Mozilla, IE, Firefox ect.)
As others have stated, give it a couple of hours if you are having no luck. You do have till 2am of the next day to have your pickup appointment to be scheduled.

That worked for me also.
Apparently I had to be signed into my USPS account to schedule a pick-up. One sign-in appears to last quite awhile (60 days? until the cookie gets stale or is deleted?)
