Tricky situation

Hello! I ordered for the first time from an international seller. I ordered two items and asked for combined shipping. I got no response, but then was issued a tracking number for the items. It was the same tracking number for both, but I was still charged shipping twice. I am willing to accept this as my fault for not asking before I bid.

The real problem now is the lack of movement on the package and the total lack of communication from the seller. The purchase page only shows "shipping info received". When I visited the carrier itself with the tracking number, it has no record of the package.  I emailed again to inquire and still have gotten no response.

I am trying to give the benefit of the doubt. It has been over a week with no communication and no movement on the package. It isn't due to arrive until the first week of October, but I am a little concerned.

I know the seller doesn't have to communicate with me. The tracking is worrisome.

Should I just wait and see if it comes?

You are correct on all points, and yes, waiting is about all you can do.  A case can't be opened until the estimated delivery date passes.

Unfortunately patience is required in this situation.

If you do not receive delivery of your item, you can open a ebay request, the day after the last estimated date for delivery, for refund of your payment.

Yes, a first purchase from overseas can be concerning and worrying!  I get it as I have done it too. I was all excited about a purchase & great price, then had the angst of waiting and the doubts of 'perhaps this is a scam.'

Problem is that some sellers have TERRIBLE customer service skills and many think that once an item ships they are 'done' with it and not need to respond.

But with a delivery from overseas all you can do is be patient and wait for the last estimated delivery date (EDD) on the order.  The day AFTER the EDD, if you have not received the item, then at the bottom of every page find the link for the Resolution Center.  Click that and select Item Not received (INR).  You are covered under eBay's Money Back Guarantee (MBG).

Now, something to NOT do that many posters seem to do.  DO NOT try to return the item or cancel the sale before you receive it or the EDD.  Filing a return seems like a good idea, but if you don't have the item in hand to send back, you will miss the deadlines in eBay's process and the seller will have eBay close the case in the seller's favor.  That only buys a bunch of headaches, so best avoided.

I know it is frustrating to have to wait so long for things to arrive.  Perhaps this experience will demonstrate the "cost" emotionally to waiting and help one realize a few extra bucks spent domestically will get faster delivery and less angst?

Thanks for the detailed response and the sympathy- you are right, I may have to weigh the "cost" over the deal:) I appreciate the advice and will see what happens! Perhaps I will be pleasantly surprised?

Yes, ive had similar situations with ebay. they are refunded a buyer who purposely kept my power cord and some parts but accepted his refund requested which hurts me so now its not sellable.. A lao of buyers are scamming sellers . Ive reported this to baby about 10 times but they refuse to do anything but support buyer who is obviously scamming me and stealing parts to things before returning them.. Sellers need to be caustics of all buyers and buyers need to be careful as well. Ebay has really lost any ethics on any buyer/ seller protection and doesn't care as long as they make money. its vile. all need to be ware.
