Never received item, seller sent it using a skimmed usps #. As number was scanned in my town(that’s right) someone else’s #, they send you a text your item has arrived! NOT!

In my case, I knew almost immediately something was wrong, because I checked my mailbox right after delivery confirmation, from there I went to the PO.
I’ve been a verified eBay member for 25 years. Same with PayPal identity verified, mailing address is verified. I bought thousands of items, never once had any missed directed package because of the tracking number not matching my address. You have to have malice intent to be able to miss direct that package as such. so when your package is not delivered, you file a report, and when your money is refunded, you no longer get to post your negative review and that’s how that works. This is not rocket science, and he is no angel.

without blowing up on them and calling them a scammer yada yada

Package was delivered to unknown address. PO won’t inform you unless you have a court order.
Yes, I sent 3emails, no conversation. eBay forced a refund, so now I am unable to leave negative feedback while he scams other people.
since you can’t leave feedback, this is my only venue to alert people. I wish I could name the individual, but that’s against liberal policy. Can’t be shining light on criminals. I am considering purchasing again to see if I can reproduce it though, validate what I know, eBay won’t do anything about it he is still selling, I will purchase again under a different user name see if we can reproduce this criminal activity.

Hopefully @ab-stuff you're not planning on replicating the failure
-- where you appeal, and eBay pays your refund themselves
-- while the seller keeps your original payment
-- and you can't leave feedback.
Instead, start a return request for missing parts or pieces, and the seller, not eBay, pays your refund, and you can leave feedback. And that will get you a better chance to be sanctioned as a malicious buyer, per eBay policy.

I appreciate everyone’s response! even if you had negative opinion of the subject, it gives me some insight, and hopefully I won’t experience this again. ✌️

well the only other real option you have is to report the seller, rest assured ebay does take action ~eventually~ if they are up to no good, nefarious sellers do get the boot, that is 100% fact.
They might be able to get away with for a little while but eventually ebay is done messing around, you will be able to tell if you check back later and see something to the effect of (no longer a registered member) or just gone period.
the ones that get away with it longer are the sellers that have a extended handling time, so say if it is slow boating from china and you have a 2 month delivery window, they throw a bunch of cheap priced good's on and then run with whatever they can get.

a scam where an eBay seller provides a USPS tracking number for an item that is actually drop-shipped by a third-party retailer like Walmart is a known tactic used to defraud buyers. The seller profits by buying a lower-priced item from a retailer like Walmart and sending it to you, but they may use a stolen credit card for the purchase. The USPS tracking number is often faked or linked to a different package, and eBay may incorrectly mark the item as delivered based on the tracking showing a delivery scan in your area. To protect yourself, file an "Item Not Received" case with eBay, report the seller for this scam, and consider filing a chargeback with your financial institution or a fraud report with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC).
BINGO! 👆

No @ab-stuff not Bingo: It's ILLOGICAL.
1. So the item is coming to you.
2. So that item is not coming to you.
3. When you file a chargeback with your financial institution, your "Item Not Received" case with eBay immediately closes and eBay cannot help you anymore.

Illogical, exactly what I thought, caught me way off guard, first time scammed like that but I assure you it happened exactly that way.
1) you think the item is coming to you hence the US PS tracking number is so convincing
2) I get a delivery notice but it’s not for you, it’s for a different address in your city or ZIP Code
3) I filed, not delivered with eBay within an hour. Refund within one day.
4) Walmart package with my item showed up two days later drop shipped.
and that’s how this scam works. Someone’s credit card got charged for the item sent to my house.
as a sidenote, we realize now my wife’s credit card had been scammed That way about four months ago a walmart.com charge showed up and we don’t have a Walmart account. Had to cancel the card and get a new one.hth

I think it’s funny. These users are coming on here and commenting, but they have absolutely no items for sale, Zero listings, have no skin in the game.
Trolls I guess🧐
