Tracking says item is delivered but I haven't received the package.

I bought a phone for $880 with tax, and according to the provided tracking number, it was delivered at/in the mailbox. The thing is, I don't have a mailbox at the shipping address, it is a store address. I would also expect that the package requires a signature as it is over $750. However, I did not sign or receive any package. I checked the information multiple times and the shipping address is correct, and I was there at the time when the package was supposedly delivered.

I contacted the seller and I'm not sure they purchased the signature thing. I will call USPS about it tomorrow but should I open an Item Not Received claim? I purchased the phone because I needed it in short notice but now that it's lost I don't know if I can wait that long for it to be tracked down.

Wait til you get an answer from USPS first before making a case. Or it will give eBay the chance to insist it was delivered close case on you and make you appeal. This way, it makes the whole process smoother/quicker.

It’s better to march up to the nearest PO if you can, to get an intranet report. They’ll provide GPS deliver coordinates and tell you whether or not the address on the parcel is yours. The results should be given to you in writing, saying for example, that said tracking number was not delivered to your said address, nor said address was on the postage label or even if whether or not the parcel was eBay related. Dated and signed. Pdf it, ready to upload as part of the evidence when you file “I didn’t receive it” report.

Everyone should open free accounts at FedEx, UPS, USPS, etc to monitors packages you have coming to your address so there’s a record.

I think if you need the phone urgently, you should buy it in the store, not online, cause sometimes you will face with some problems like this. Just wait for USPS answer before opening the case.

Contact your delivering Post Office. Ask them to check the GPS location of the delivery. Does IT match the address? You wouldn't have signed for it but whoever was taking possesion of the mail in the office should have been asked if they would accept the package and then (due to covid) the carrier would have signed for the package. It should look like this LA R4 C19 (my initials, my route, and C19) All of the top three carriers are using some sort of alternitive to having customers handle our scanners and sign.

That package is not your item. Someone in your zip code ordered a jigsaw puzzle, or pillow cases, or an alarm clock, And your seller copied that tracking number to prove the delivery of your item.

Even if USPS tells you where the package was delivered @jiandh0 that person is not going to give you their jigsaw puzzle, or pillow cases, or alarm clock: It's not your item.

But you have a slam-dunk.

1. Just click More actions > I didn't receive it on your Purchases here,

2. select "I want a refund" on the list to start an Item Not Received refund request,

3. then come back after 3 business days to click Ask eBay to step in, to get you $880 refund.

I have the same thing happened to me, but for an item of $380. UPS confirmed that it was sent to a different address. After 3 days, eBay closed the case and won't refund my money. All they need to do was check with UPS but they didn't, they just copied a message from UPS tracking site which said that the item was delivered to the same city (no street address). I'm appealing with eBay and also filed a dispute with my credit card. Good luck with your case and please update this thread so we can know the results.

Not a very good advice. If INR is opened, eBay will go with what the tracking number says.  I would inquire about exact location of where the deliver scan was made with USPS  and go from there.

Nah, each case is unique. It’s best for the buyer to be prepared with evidence if it was something fishy or check with the post if it was a mis-scan or scanned but didn’t deliver yet, just in case eBay deems the item is delivered.

And, you don’t know what was said to eBay by the buyer that made them react that way and who gave no explanation according to the seller.

I do not know which route OP will choose to go. However filing INR with tracking # that says "delivered" is NOT the best approach. Regarding the link you posted- Ok, it did happen, however chances to get denied are much greater than winning the case.

I have had multiple packages from several platforms state delivered but did not show up until a day or 2 or few later. This has occurred since the USPS mess last year. Maybe this is the case? I would check with USPS before opening a case. If no resolve then open a case. I hope you get your package!

UPDATE: I called today and the post office gave me the address, it wasn't my address so I definitely got scammed. It's around the same area. I also called eBay and they told me I have to wait 3 days to file a claim so I guess I have to wait.

This is exactly what I'm going through! Ebay closed the case with me after 3 days, saying that per UPS, it was delivered, even though UPS already confirmed that it was not the right address.  I'm appealing and going back and forth with eBay with no resolution. Now eBay wants me to file a police report...so frustrating with eBay!

Oh no! Did you use a credit card to pay? I'm planning on taking it up with my bank in case eBay won't help me. But I guess I'll have to see in 3 days, hopefully eBay will help with the return since the seller didn't put a signature confirmation even though they were supposed to.

On another note, I checked the profile of the seller and it seems like I wasn't the only who got scammed.
