25 year eBay seller here, from OK. Purchased a shipping label yesterday for a NC address through ebay shipping for USPS ground but the post office would not accept the package because it showed "delivered". Neat trick. A package in my hand was already delivered. The same label number originated in PA a week ago and that package was delivered to Texas a few days ago. The post office supervisor said eBay had "scammed" me by giving me a used number. I was forced to buy a whole new label that was then used to cover up my original label and the package is now on its way to NC. I have opened a case with USPS to get a refund for $5.35 on the second label I should not have had to buy but have not heard back yet. Has anyone else ever had this problem? If so, did you get refunded by USPS?
There was an issue with labels purchased thru ebay over the weekend where labels given were already used. Ebay is aware of it. Try calling an ebay agent saying you received a used label and want to get it voided/refunded
i took two items to the post office and dropped them off not knowing there was a problem. SO an hour later I get a message from my customer pointing out the DELIVERED message on their order. went to postmaster today and they pulled both up in their internal system and both the packages are moving through the system normally, but not updating because there is a STOP code on the tracking number after delivery to the first address. He said the packages will be delivered but they will not show any updated scans or delivery. They will show internally on the USPS screens so if you have a buyer that is worried they can ask their postmaster to check the internal system
So how is this possible? Why does ebay sometimes give out used tracking numbers? I want to understand how it happened and what ebay is doing to prevent this from happening again. I don't need this stress. Does anyone know if ebay has fixed this issue?
