To Poland and back

On February 20 I shipped a t-shirt to someone located in Poland. eBay suggested I ship it by eBay International Standard Delivery.  The t-shirt came back to me today. it had a number of rubber stamps on it, all of them in Polish. I don't read Polish, so I don't know the reason it was returned. The name and address on the package is the same the buyer gave to eBay. Now what? How do I get the t-shirt to the buyer, and if I have to re-send it, who pays for shipping?

Hi @kauvil-us ,

Here is a link to a translation online program.  https://www.bing.com/search?q=translation+spanish+to+english&form=PRUSEN&mkt=en-us&httpsmsn=1&refig=...

At least you were not charged the return shipping costs.  Once you learn what the stamps mean please share that here.

Most are smeared from exposure to moisture and are unreadable.

Re: To Poland and back

Just a guess but maybe vat due and they refused to pay it, therefore it was returned by customs.

Deduct original shipping and refund.

Re: To Poland and back

Track the package here - it might give you more information @kauvil-us.

I would send the buyer a partial refund after subtracting the cost of shipping and eBay fees then relist the item for sale.

Re: To Poland and back

Send a quick note to the buyer explaining that the item was returned back to you by the Polska Post Office for unknown reasons. (Probably because the recipient didn't pay duties or never collected the item at the post office). I would issue them a refund minus the shipping cost.

Good luck!

Re: To Poland and back

I did send the buyer a note through eBay explaining the situation, but so far no answer. It's been a couple of weeks now. For all I know he could be dead, or cancelled his eBay account. So how can refund him?

Re: To Poland and back

  • You can refund the buyer the item cost minus original shipping and minus your eBay fees which won't be credited on a partial refund. Go to your orders page, find the transaction and select "send refund." On the next page enter the amount.

  • You can cancel the transaction "problem with address" which will trigger a full refund to the buyer and your FVF would be credited.
