Did you mean:

The seller refunded 0 to my original payment method.

eBay forcefully accepted that the refund went through (it hasn’t) even though I was giving the option to select that it has. Now I’m wondering how to make eBay step in and actually for me to receive the money since I was told about the option but wasn’t given the options to make them step in while looking at the summary of the return process. Also the email says that the seller refunded $0, which as anyone can guess that’s not the money I spent. It does say wait 48 hours but what’s the point when the refund is $0. Send help please.

Re: The seller refunded 0 to my original payment method.

What was the original source of the payment? Paypal paid via balance? Bank account? Debit/credit card? Or a straight debit/credit card payment?

When a payment is funded with a debit/credit card or bank account, it can take several days for the money to land in that account. You can still see the transaction (refund in progress or similar verbiage) in your Paypal account.

If  you made a payment with a debit/credit card, you should see the money return to your account in a few days.

Now, having said all of that...I have no idea why the email says a zero refund. Glitch perhaps?  Maybe someone else may know, since I'm not personally familiar with the refund process on the buyer side.

Re: The seller refunded 0 to my original payment method.

Payed using a debit card but eBay used PayPal as a pay gate. I already have a paypal linked to my account but when I click the link to the PayPal transaction I get hit with a paypal error screen. Did eBay by chance created a paypal account without me realizing since I payed with a debit card and not through my paypal.

Ebay has no ability to set up a PP account for you.

I take it this was not a PP debit card, is that correct?  Have you checked with your bank to see if the money has gone back into your account?  That can sometimes take a few days, it is NOT instant.  While vendors can take it in the blink of an eye, they can't return it that fast, go figure!!!
