The USPS collapsed.

ebay must suspend the "Tracking uploaded on time and validated" requirement.

I was on line at the Post Office to have my packages scanned and I was told by the Clerk and a Supervisor (I guess) that "prepaid" packages will not be scanned no more by clerks and will be treated as "drop off" with late inside (?) scanning.

Carriers have been instructed not to scan packages not even the "Shipment Confirmation Acceptance Notice"

All of us know that (if) it will not be scanned in 2 o 3 days and sometimes only when delivered (and sometimes not),  eBay will start hitting us with "defects" for not: "Tracking uploaded on time and validated" on our performance page and (some) will lose the status of "Top Sellers" .

What is next? Our listings will go to the bottom of the barrel with No listings impressions. No more Sales.

When you click "Print your shipping label" you a message from ebay reads:  "USPS is experiencing significant delays across their delivery network. Please consider using other carrier options that may provide a better buyer experience".

Also a new announcement: "eBay Teams Up with UPS to offer New Shipping Options on its marketplace"

Let me tell you: Sellers shipping (domestic USPS with eBay Ccial discount) very light items (4 to 8 oz = $2.73 to $3.67) won't move to UPS nor FEDEX because they can't beat USPS rates for light items. No way.

Then we have no other choices than eliminate the Free Shipping or rise prices. =(less sales)

We also must to change our shipping handling times to a minimum of 3 days and still we won't be safe.

No more "Same day shipping", no more eBay Guaranteed Delivery" = (less sales)

This is an effect Domino and we are trapped.

Everything is because the Post Office has to collapse to avoid the e-mail vote in the November elections.

I'd like to hear the eBay's voice telling us that the requirement of  Tracking uploaded on time and validated has been suspended until world come back right to normal.

It is better to fail in originality than to succeed in imitation.

Yep, everything has been normal at my PO too. I drop my stuff off on the counter just like I always do, and it gets scanned in that day.

I think that you are right that eBay wants SOME consolidation to the more professional sellers - high dollar, high volume - but they don't want only $1MM+/month sellers.  Those $1MM+ sellers can't find and list what so many smaller sellers can.  Me, I sell things that larger suppliers can't.  I don't try to compete with them, and they can't compete with me.  Further, so many come here because eBay is not Amazon or Wal-Mart.  If you make eBay just like them, eBay cannot compete.  They understand that - they won't take the legs out from under most sellers.

My local PO has the same level of service as before - short lines, friendly staff, ZERO issues with scanning items.

Sell less to make more?  Maybe in your case.  For me, the USPS is working just fine.  Yes, I've had to upgrade my shipping from MM to 1st class, sometimes to priority, but it is all worth it.  It doesn't really take me more time to do so, and my margins can take the hit.

I don't get how increasing the price will be a good thing.  Items have a natural price - increase, and they won't sell.  I think that most sellers have gone through a rudimentary calculation.  If raising the price provides more profits (on less revenue), wouldn't most sellers have already increased their prices?
