This is a first for me, buyer has notified me item was stolen or delivered to wrong address. It has been marked as delivered. Checked with USPS and they allow a claim, it was partially insured. So does anyone know what eBay's position is on this, if the buyer demands there money back. Actually I feel that both USPS and myself completed our end, and this should be the buyer's problem. The Buyer has told me they have had several packages disappear lately, you would think they would ask for signature delivery. I have filed a claim with USPS and await their response.

Onus is on the Seller until delivered to the Buyer.
Was it delivered to the address in your order view?

It's on the buyer to have a safe place to receive their mail. If their packages are disappearing (and they admit that this is happening), there is nothing you can do about it. I'm surprised the USPS allowed a claim to be opened on a package that is marked delivered.

It is up to a buyer to have a secure place to receive their orders. You are not responsible for items stolen off their porch.
If I buy something, it gets delivered to me and then gets stolen then that is MY responsibility. There is no way I can expect the shipper to be responsible. That would be akin to buying a car, having it stolen, and then going back to the dealership to get your money back.

@fishing-101 You were correct already. As long as you have that delivered scan you are all set. No need for further involvement but it's very nice of you to help your buyer out. Best of luck to you....

I've lived in the same house for 25 years. I had never had a package go missing until a couple of months ago. I contacted the retailer from which I'd ordered, and they refunded me immediately. They also pursued the delivery details, confirmation, etc., with FedEx.
I didn't order anything else until I bought a new deck box with a padlock for my front porch. I leave the lock off, and the delivery people put the packages in the box and lock it back up for me.
Worked really well until one local delivery person couldn't figure out how to open my front gate latch, so s/he just left the package out on the public sidewalk . . .

Well, sure...the sidewalk would be the closest to the delivery truck.
(You reported that, right? Goodness)

The shipper can determine if the package was delivered to the wrong address by the GPS on the delivery scan. That happened to me once. I got a delivery message and immediately notified the shipper the package had NOT been delivered. They determined it was left at an incorrect address, picked up the misdelivered package, and left it at my address.

I'm aware of that; hence, the statement in my post, "They also pursued the delivery details, confirmation, etc., with FedEx."

Anything I order that is not breakable and won't fit in my locking mailbox has directions to gently put it over the top of my side yard gate. The gate is always locked. Problem solved for 99% of things I order.
