Standard Envelope tracking as proof of delivery.....

I haven't started using this new service as yet and was wondering if any seller has successfully used the tracking on these to prove delivery to eBay when a buyer opens an INR case. Doesn't seem worth it if eBay won't accept it as proof of delivery.

My understanding is that there is no eBay protection for items not delivered. The protection is provided by something call PIP and is kind of like insurance for lost items.  If someone files an INR claim through eBay, you answer the claim and refund the buyer. Then you wait 30 days and then file a claim. You can read more about it here under FAQs.

avoid at all cost  30 to 40% of packages dont get first scan for up to 8 days , strikes for not shipped on time , the delivery scan is made before delivery , cases opened after it shows delivered but  they dont have it , i have used it for maybe 200 packages i have 68 current strikes for not accepted on time and have had 20 removed by  agal at ebay, have given 4 refunds , 3 cases opened up , i changed business policy went back to first class and sales stayed the same ebay reps have no idea  what it is ..what you are buying is a stamped label with address and return address , thats it  what would ebay expect for .51 ?  yet they hold top rated sellers to accepted and scanned on time ...avoid at all cost

I will tell you not to do it. I am going back to first-class shipping!!!!! I have used this new envelope shipping for about a month now. Horrible experience! Some are tracked, some are not! I figured this out when I received feedback from buyers on the card sold and item did not show delivered in my sell center. Also, lots of contradictions between USPS and Ebay, which leave the sellers in limbo between them both. Mom said yes, Dad said no!!!! Thus far I have had one return from USPS and had to pay for the .51 cents shipping out of pocket to send back to buyer. USPS sent it back stating I needed to add an additional .24 events of postage plus the .51 cents postage.  😡 The other 100 cards are floating in USPS space with no way of tracking.  I have contacted ebay in regards to this issue and the customer service reps were not well versed in the program either. I have not yet figured out how top reach someone from e-bay management because they are setting up the seller for failure.

Thanks to all who replied. Good thing I didn't try it first. Apparently another eBay boondoggle. Don't know who to credit with solution as all replies were right on.

I agree 100%. My % of claims for non delivery is rising. I asked my local Post Office there answer:   the bar code is for machinable mail and that is not a code for postal workers to use by hand scanning so whatever EBay says they are doing is really a untrue.... if you want these letters to be scanned they have to go though a “Machine Scan” and he said these size with the card board type Envelopes are definitely Scan machinable the edges only need to bend a little to go through the machine. However if you want non machinable then these type will not be tracked and the fact that you’re having any of these tracked is because someone is putting them through a Scan Machine.

Multiple customers report their item delivered but it does not arrive for a day or two depending how far they are from the PO autoscan. The postman do not scan the item at delivery.

Now the scammers have caught on ! They look at all the items they purchase, most likely the have the item in hand and still file a claim and WIN because the P.O. did not scan the item! B4 they could do it if no tracking was entered, now ebay provides a record. Easy scam money

I have about 600 listings currently, I now have lowered the Free Shipping level to item $12 and under so I don't get killed.

I have complained to ebay and plan to file claims for the items lost in this poor tracking system use the link below:

I went to the USPS and dropped of the rest of my packages to be scanned but the clear wouldn't scan the envelope and made me put it in the metered mail slot. A **bleep** shoot from there and how is it being tracked if it isn't scanned?
