Speedpak, Tracking says delivered, but package absent?

I ordered a number of packages from China over the holidays, and I assumed that they would take a month or two. eBay tracking shows that the packages made it through customs without a hitch and arrived  ahead of schedule.

Basically, I ordered one of the packages on December 16 and the scheduled delivery was January 18; however, the tracking says that the package made it to my local post office and delivered to my apartment on January 2. When I checked my apartments mail system, they had no records of the package being dropped off even after scouring their database and storage room twice.

I’ve elected to wait a little after the expected date before taking any action, but I have some questions while I do so:

-How long is too long to wait for this package? I know I have 30 days after the scheduled delivery date to raise a claim, but I am afraid of “running out of time,” and that raises other questions for me.

-Can I track the item, even though USPS won’t take my speedPak tracking number?

-Is there a common practice that would cause these early scans? What’s the time scale I should expect if the tracking is unreliable?

-Who should I go to for accountability? The seller I purchased from appears to be reputable, but idk who to go to for info on my package.

-If I worse comes to worse and I raise a “item not received” claim, how do I ensure that the false delivery tracking isn’t used against me despite the fact I have not received the package?

I have ordered packages from China before, but I’ve never had this issue before. I’m trying to be patient, but the tracking is confusing me.

If tracking on the order details shows delivery to you buyer protection will not get involved.Your issue is with the Usps if they did the final leg up to delivery

This is a user to user board not eBay employees.
