Someone else re-routed my package to another address

I believe this is the second time it happened with this seller but I didn't catch it the first time. The seller originally sent a package and gave me tracking, but it ended up sent to the wrong address in another state so they later sent a replacement. They assumed it was just a bug in their order system.

That replacement package did show up in a recent USPS delivery digest. I only get e-mails for digests for my personal home address. However, this package tracking recently showed that it arrived at a sorting facility in a completely different state. It was First Class and should've arrived by Friday the 10th.

So now it seems like this has happened twice. It has never happened to me before, only from this particular item/seller.

Message the seller, ask if they got a message asking for a address change.

Another possibility is that it was 'misdirected', nothing unusual these days. I also subscribe to the delivery digest. Had a priority mail scheduled to be delivered at a date certain in June then got another update that it would be delayed. Arrived about a week later.

Re: Someone else re-routed my package to another address

But in this case it has now happened to two packages (from the same seller, original and then the replacement), and it isn't just that it said delayed, the package is now in another state. I live in the SAME STATE that the seller ships from, and the tracking clearly shows the package was shipped from a city in the same state as me. Then a week later when it should've already been delivered to me, it ends up at a sorting facility over 1000 miles away from me.

Also, I think the reason the seller doesn't update the tracking until like 5 days after shipping is because they have been seeing this happen before and maybe think the buyers are doing it and pretending to not get their package (or they think the buyer's ebay account is compromised?). I think there is someone doing some shady stuff at the post office my seller uses because I've never had this happen, and that the seller doesn't add tracking until nearly a week after shipping tells me they already know something is happening, but they never told me about that. All they told me is "oops sorry your original order was ignored, here is a new package."

I think you should file a INR and get your money back. The seller seems flaky.

If they're not uploading tracking until 5 days after shipping then they're doing it manually, and it sounds like they are uploading the wrong tracking number for your purchase, so you end up watching the tracking of someone else's package going to their address instead of yours.

If the last estimated date of delivery for your item has now passed, file the Item Not Received dispute, collect your refund and move on to a better seller. Do not close out the dispute unless or until you have either the item that you ordered or a full refund instead. The seller does not need you to close the dispute in order for them to refund, and if you close the INR, you will not be able to open it again.

Re: Someone else re-routed my package to another address

The replacement package showed up in my delivery digest on the 8th, said it would be delivered on the 10th. Then recently the package showed up at a sorting facility in a different state. I don't think you guys understand. a package that isn't originally destined for my address does not show up in delivery digest. Someone is causing packages specifically from this seller to be redirected.

Re: Someone else re-routed my package to another address

That "someone" is the seller, you are being scammed. File a INR and point out the package has been delivered to another state.
