Never had this  happen.  Ship something FedEx.  Tracking shows delivered without delay.
In the states and not a freight forwarder.
Tracking shows absolutely no issues and nothing odd.
Shipped and Delivered.
Buyer claims he never got it, eBay takes my money and gives it back to him.
Some days......just can't win.

Did the buyer open an INR claim? If you'd added the 'Delivered' tracking, you'd have won the case.

Byer started a case INR.
I uploaded tracking showing Delivered.
EBay sent message saying I had won.
eBay sent another message few minutes later reversing that decision.
I did not win the case.
I cannot appeal the case because the decision is final (is the message I get when I try)

@mickmeymouse

You won, but it was reversed? That's a new one on me. Hmmm... 🤔

It might be a credit card dispute by the buyer. Buyer gets their money back. That over rules eBay but the money will come out of your "available funds". And don't contest it. You will get charged an additional $20+ by the bank. Just a thought.

@12345jamesstamps ,
I've had that happen in the past, but with everything going through eBay (the sale, the shipping, delivery, etc).
eBay's ruling has always been to let me keep the payment.
(I have never lost a CC dispute on eBay).

I sure thought I knew how the system worked.
But with verified, on time, delivery?
I just don't understand how I'm responsible for this.

it depends on the type of chargeback that was opened. If it was an inr or similar claim and the seller shows proof that the item was delivered, the buyer will get refunded but not from the sellers funds. eBay does offer seller protection in that situation.

I'm not sure what happened in this case though. Are you sure that the funds came from your account @mickmeymouse?  Sometimes ebay will give the buyer a courtesy refund if the item shows delivered.  If I were you I would contact ebay customer service via their Facebook or Twitter accounts by sending a private message. It doesn't sound as if you should be the one out the money,

Yes, I thought eBay offered seller protections.  You ship the item, on time, with tracking, THROUGH eBay.
You then provide tracking for the INR case, Showing that the package, in fact, has been delivered.
Thus concluding my responsibility.
eBay then sent me a message siding with me.
Then sent another message reversing that decision.  (let buyer keep the CONFIRMED Delivered item AND took my money and refunded it to the buyer).
I have checked my account, and the last message from eBay states such.

We reviewed this case again and decided to refund $124.95 to the buyer.

The refund amount of $124.95 will be recovered from you by eBay.

The buyer opened an INR case.
I uploaded the tracking as requested (delivered).
Ebay sends me this message:
We reviewed this case and have closed it without any refund to the buyer.
The case will not affect your seller performance.
Any feedback left for this transaction will be removed.
We received tracking information that shows the item was delivered to the buyer's address.

Then, a bit later I get another message UPDATE:
We reviewed this case again and decided to refund $124.95 to the buyer.

The refund amount of $124.95 will be recovered from you by eBay.

It sounds like a wrong decision was made on the buyer's appeal, or the buyer provided (falsified) evidence to get this ruled in their favor.

You need to contact eBay CS @mickmeymouse and as PJ suggested, the most effective route for a situation where it looks like eBay made an incorrect ruling will be to send a DM on social (ebayforbusiness on facebook, ebayforsellers on insta, askebay on X).

If you don't have / don't want to create a social account you can use the chat option on this page, type agent in the chat box on the left: https://www.ebay.com/help/contact_us?id=4002&st=10

Google street view and see if that delivery photo matches the buyer's address - quickest way to find out if FedEx might have mis-delivered to a different house.

Is it possible that the buyer was able to submit documentation from Fedex showing that the item wasn't delivered to the correct address or that the shipping label was addressed to the wrong address?

How do you know that it's the buyer's garage?

@wastingtime101 ,   Chat agent won't work.   Case has been closed, final decision reached.
It won't let me connect to an agent.  No matter how many times I enter "agent".
Can't start a new chat either.
Every time I open the chat box, the prev conversation with the bot is showing.
Clever eBay....
