Can I sign a note for mail carrier to just leave it if I sign a note?
Also when googling I found somewhere that said you can sign online at USPS website? Is that true? I couldn't find it looking around the website.
Thanks.

As for leaving the signed note and the mailman just leaving it, you would have to ask the mailman. (I dont think he would cause it defeats the purpose of signature required) I know I would be mad if I spent the money for sig. req. and the post man did that. I never heard of e signing for mail, but then again???? Most sellers are going to sig. required to protect themselves. Butyou can still find some that dont. Good Luck

Thanks all. I wrote the mail lady (that I know as I get a lot of packages) and asked her to just leave the package at the post office tonight and I'll go pick it up in the morning. I didn't have time to look for the form online but need to find it so I can sign for the next time I won't be around to sign.

That they can do...

There might be a little distinction to be made here. If the carrier leaves a pickup notice because there's no safe delivery place for the package, you can sign the notice to request delivery anyway (on the next day or day after), or (I think) to redirect it to someplace nearby like your next-door neighbor.
But if the package was shipped with Signature Confirmation, you (or any other adult at your address) have to sign for that in person at delivery time; you can't pre-sign for it. Your other option would be to collect it from the post office.

I do see a post on the river's forum from Dec 2016 that if a buyer signs up with MY USPS.com and their area has Informed Delivery, they can sign for and accept a delivery online. I don't think that service is site specific but I don't know how accurate the info is or if it is still valid but perhaps someone who has informed delivery can check.
