I just sold a watch and am about to ship it to the authenticator. Should I add on signature confirmation and insure it and will that apply when it gets shipped to the buyer or just to the authenticator?

I ship watches to the authenticator with signature confirmation and maybe 3-400 of insurance
I always ship with USPS first class.I do not see the need for priority
they will ship/repack the watch to the buyer with UPS 2 day air and its free for you

Thanks for the quick reply.
I offered FedEx 2-day on my listing and ebay is telling me to ship to the authenticator using this service. So is ebay liable for everything after it reaches the authenticator? Just wanted to make sure if they get signature conf and insure it from authenticator to buyer

I would focus on that portion of the shipping for which you're responsible, which would be from you to the authenticator. Assuming that your sale was over $750 (which it looks like it was, although the exact price is not visible to us), then you must use Signature Confirmation. Insure it as well if you cannot afford to lose it.
The shipment from the authenticator to the buyer would be the authenticator's responsibility.

I normally ship to the OH authenticator....they will take care of the UPS second day air and everything else
you only need to get it to the authenticator..I would certainly use the signature
nice looking monza.......I have had very good service with this program

Does the authenticator insure it on the way to the buyer or do you need to request it? I saw a thread on the forum about a case were a watch went missing and it looked like the authenticator shipped without adequate insurance.

I do not think eBay is liable for anything at any point of the transaction. Its all on you the shipper and the authenticator, also a shipper to the buyer. If its a valuable watch, definitely make sure its insured against loss or damage at every step.
